I just bought a $100 CD boxset. What am I THINKING? I don't even own a CD PLAYER. And I already have the official FLAC of the damn thing, so why did I just throw money at a CD?
Tune in next week and find out the crap I bought and explore just what the hell is wrong with me. |
New here!
The last album I listen to is a R&B feel Korean Kpop "Overcome" from Nu'est(interesting right?). I am so addicted to the music arrangements as well as the beat. |

She Spread Sorrow - Rumspringa this is exactly what i like about well done death industrial/power electronics....not just pure painful noise....although there is a presence of sadism here....but well orchestrated electronics rooted in fear and hopelessness....Alice Kundalini does a wonderful job of forcing the listener into what appears to be her favorite fears and regrets as well as her perverse desires.....stand out tracks are easily Seven Daughters and Chasity http://cdn.acfrg.com/i/370_370_fit_f...325297-emp.jpg Anthrax - For All Kings personally....i'm really enjoying this album for what it is....reminds me of early Anthrax and honestly makes me want to go out and skate :) |

Ironically the last album I bought before moving to streaming was The Next Day by David Bowie on its day of release.

A double dose...

Awesome, but where do you find a record player that big?

The Life of Pablo by Kanye West I slept on this for a while, as I'm not the biggest fan of his aside from individual tracks, and the snippets I had heard didn't interest me much. And 3 tracks into my first listen here I nearly aborted. I am glad I didn't - though I will say this album does strike me as what I typically think of his albums, ie some good tracks and some that I don't care for. Yeezus is likely my favorite album of his, and the songs I think are the strongest here are almost the polar opposite of what I liked from his last. There's something sad here. This is I guess what people see MBDTF as - introspective into the mind of an egomaniac (outwardly belligerent, inwardly lonely or something). But, to me, this seems to peel back more layers. None of his albums push into my favorites or anything, but his progression album to album is quite interesting. |

Timmy's Organism - Heartless Heathen (2015) A few great songs but I'm not sure how I feel about the album as a whole yet. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/b65772a8c18...dc/5892891.jpg Peter Stringer-Hye - Sunday Girls [EP] (2015) Nice pop tunes for fans of the 60s and Big Star. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/ce31a51cf6d...cf/6028708.jpg Death Index - Death Index (2016) The lead guy from Merchandise teamed up with a guy from the Italian hardcore scene for a hardcore post-punk album and it's pretty good. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....btL._SS280.jpg Alex Smoke - Love Over Will (2016) I'm gonna have to try this again because it's not what I expected from the couple songs I had heard, and I'm not sure what I think. The cover is cool though, this one being half-censored by Amazon. At least they didn't censor the bewbs. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/ca9690f7dab...ec/1448661.jpg Crisis - Hymns of Faith (1980) I downloaded this a few months ago and finally got around to listening to it last week. Quite good post-punk. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/1dcd5dc3514...2b/2430605.jpg The Stranglers - No More Heroes (1977) http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/c78394614c2...52/5906022.jpg Rob Crow's Gloomy Place - You're Doomed. Be Nice. (2016) Last year, Rob Crow announced he was quitting music to focus on his family because music wasn't paying the bills. I'm happy he seems to have had a change of heart and released this album with some members of Heavy Vegetable. I wasn't sold on the single "Business Interruptus" but the album is really solid and I like the song better in context. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/14489c14003...74/6024270.jpg DMX Krew - You Exist (2016) More tasty electro from the prolific Ed Upton. He always tends to have a few killer cuts on every LP, but I think his EPs tend to be more solid with less filler. Not that any tracks are necessarily filler, it's just that this style works better in smaller, more potent doses I guess. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/2afaddf069f...a1/5991520.jpg Surgeon - From Farthest Known Objects (2016) |
I Robot - Allan Parsons Project.
Dude knew how to fully explore the technology of the times along with great songs. Hell, he engineered the most kinda-hated album on this forum - Dark Side of the Moon. |

This one:
Stam1na - Viimeinen Atlantis https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...n_Atlantis.jpg It is some kind of ever so slightly proggy thrash metal thing that doesn't sound like thrash. I guess that makes it alternative metal. Love the band, had a hell of a difficult time getting my hands on this album. Now I only need the debut and the upcoming one. Exciting! To me anyway. Perhaps worth a mention; for the first time ever, I didn't get the new Megadeth album upon release. I always do, and I always like their albums more or less, but this time I'm oddly disinterested. Don't know why, since I even liked the previous one which every one else hated. |

^ the last track especially is wonderful.
I'm currently listening to: http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG...0002770075.jpg Spirit of Peace by Popol Vuh whenever I'm sick i'll listen to Popol Vuh; I think they're music has some sort of healing power. Well, right now I'm monstrously hungover and have to drive 3 hours after work tonight so I desperately need this to do its magic. |
The description from the uploader says it best... "Fantasy and mod psychedelia of sixties Italy and the Wild West"
The Seduction Of Piero Piccioni - Piero Piccioni (Full Album Compilation) |

This weekend I finally laid claim to my first physical copies of Pete Namlook's Fax Records releases. Two multi-disc box sets - Die Welt ist Klang (A Tribute to Pete Namlook) contains 8 discs of original recordings, rare treasures, and tribute tracks contributed by artists from the Fax label and from fans alike. It is a wonderful keepsake celebrating the life and work of an important figure in the history of ambient electronic music.
The second set is the newly-issued collection of the classic The Dark Side of the Moog series, a collaboration between Namlook, Klaus Schulze, and Bill Laswell. The original issues of each volume were produced in very limited numbers and command insane prices when traded online. This new release, while similarly limited, is of sturdy construction, features eye-catching packaging, and so long as you grab it while the label still offers copies, is far more affordable than the individual volumes themselves. I feel privileged to have claimed each for my collection. http://i.imgur.com/1zr7YpQl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ziEbYxol.jpg |
A copy of Kettel's new one.
It's pretty OK so far. Nothing too crazy. |

Inspired by a recent EPOCH6 post. I confess I've loved "Moondance," "Wild Night," and "Moondance" for a long time without exploring any further. I'm not disappointed. |
The last cd i bought was Waiting for the sirens call by New Order.
The last album i downloaded was a synthpop band named Karmapolis, but i didnt like it so i deleted it. The last album i downloaded and liked was the last one by Duran duran. |

Serial Hawk - Searching for the Light first album by the band who was touring with Conan. They were amazing live....so loud that a woman vomited. I bought this and their first EP.....so far the recorded material is really good.....sludgy doom metal with minimal lyrics. Nice people too. |
Big Walter 'Shakey' Horton - The Soul Of Blues Harmonica (1964) |
I've listened to this album enough times that it should be old hat, but god damn is it the absolute epitome of rock 'n' roll. Elvis, the Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin have not got a **** on this album and this band. Oh my god is this amazing. There's a reason an entire genre of rock is pretty much based on this one album.

Love Grips - MUCH LOVE DEEP WEB (vol. 1) https://lovegrips.bandcamp.com/album...deep-web-vol-1 There's three volumes. Half way through the first and it's totally stupid so far. Marvin Gaye, Elton John and Kitty to name but a few mashups. |
Samsara Blues Experiment - Long Distance Trip (2010) |

Sofy Major - Waste really good noise rock from France.....while sticking to the formula they tend to go on melodic tinges....which is actually wonderful. Currently on tour with the mighty UNSANE. if you have good taste check these boys out :) https://sofymajor.bandcamp.com/ |
