Hot Snakes - Automatic Midnight This one is so great. It's got a lot of sonic depth to it for being just a 4-piece band. Probably the best thing I've heard all week. https://e.snmc.io/lk/s/l/47c79103777...e0/1222972.jpg Shellac - 1000 Hurts Yeah this was okay. I probably won't listen to it again, but I'll definitely listen to something else by Shellac. |

I'm probably late to the Daft Punk party (if there even is one), but the last album I bought was Random Access Memories. I like it.

Fun fact: Incubus's Morning View and P.O.D.'s Satellite were the first cds I ever bought.
Sometimes I wonder about the kind of person that I'd be if one of those was a Deftones album. |

Overall, they made great albums. Koi No Yokan is hands down their best album. |

But yes, it brings great shame upon my family. The worst part is that they don't even know it. |

put me down for "team deftones are bad"
I am listening to this: https://www.billboard.com/files/styl...-650x430-c.jpg Funeral by Arcade Fire Ive never really liked these guys much beyond a couple songs, but for whatever reason I haven't had the strength to delete Funeral off my pod. I haven't heard it in its entirety for years and its always been garnered a "this is quite ok" reaction from me in the past. but it was one of the first "critically acclaimed indie rock" albums I heard, and although that really isn't my scene either, it's stuck with me if only for that one reason. im liking it I think more than I usually do, but again I find myself wanting to listen to specific songs rather than sitting through the whole dang thing |

I have listened to Neon Bible, though again not for years, but I was less a fan of that than Funeral from memory |
^ Hey, by coincidence, I've just acquired Funeral too! I haven't played it enough to have a sure opinion about it yet, but it sounds quite promising so far. Reviewers speak highly of the lyrics (which I haven't really followed yet) but some tracks sound a little flat somehow. To make up my mind I'll have to transfer it to my car, which is where I do all my serious listening these days (2 hours' worth every day).
PS: Liking Neighbourhood #3, Power Out as I type this. |
