It can't compare to the rest of their stuff, but still very good, worth a listen for sure.

What about Feels?

Supersilent - 6 (2003)

I went into this thinking it would be a challenging listen. Turns out, it was actually quite accessible! Avant-garde experimental improvisation out of Norway.

Supersilent - 8 (2007)

I thought it'd be more of the same, but it's sufficiently different not to be repetitive. Nice!

Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth (2003)

I first heard Aesop Rock on The Uncluded's Hokey Fright, so I decided to check out his solo stuff. So far, I prefer The Uncluded.

You win for mentioning my favorite album of all time.

What other albums have you checked out?

Zhanteimi 12-15-2014 05:25 PM

That's the only one so far. Actually, I wouldn't have even known he did solo stuff if I hadn't seen your Lastfm list. :)

What's coming up soon, though, is Fast Cars, Danger etc, Labor Days, None Shall Pass, and Skelethon. In the next few days.

Labor Days and None Shall Pass are great albums. Keep us posted.

I'd recommend listening to Skelethon, then Labor Days and then None Shall Pass. If you like them and want to continue checking Aesop out after that, listen to the latest Hail Mary Mallon album instead of his other solo work.

Zhanteimi 12-15-2014 06:07 PM

Cheers, but I listen to everything in alphabetical order. Otherwise, I lose track.

Goofle 12-15-2014 06:08 PM

That's unfortunate. I suppose it doesn't matter so long as you listen to his best work anyway.

Zhanteimi 12-15-2014 06:18 PM

Indeed. Don't worry! I don't become biased against artists because a particular album might be anything less than stellar. It's all good in the end. :)

I meant to say I hope listening to one of his "worse" albums early on doesn't put you off continuing through his discography.

Zhanteimi 12-15-2014 06:25 PM

It won't. I'm happy to give every artist several chances. Besides, I'm predisposed to like Aesop Rock because of Hokey Fright.

Beyonce - Beyonce (2013)

My first brush with Beyonce. It's musically quite good but lyrically quite filthy.

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (1975)

Wow. After that Beyonce filth, this is a breath of fresh air!

Still isn't better than Relationship Of Command. Still my 3rd favorite record of all time though.

Zhanteimi 12-16-2014 06:22 AM

Having reached his eighth day of life, my son was circumcised today. If he's old enough for that, he's old enough to lie in my arms and listen to Highway 61 Revisited with me. Our first album together!

Giraffage - Comfort (2011)

This is exactly my kind of music--beautiful, quirky, bouncy electronica.

(BTW, your censor sucks, MB! I've gotta trick your censor to write Giraffage, because you're oh-so deathly afraid of any little, bad, offensive word getting out and making the poor, wittle members cwy!)

Josef K 12-16-2014 04:06 PM

Nope.

Giraffage

Zhanteimi 12-16-2014 04:08 PM

It censors me.

Swim Team 2014 Dubstep Mix

Jens Lekman's Oh You're So Silent Jens and Aztec Camera's High Land Hard Rain - they were a Hanukkah present, and as stupid as the whole concept of Hanukkah presents is, they're good albums so I'm happy.

simplephysics 12-16-2014 07:42 PM

Any album by Jens Lekman is a perfect gift for the holiday season. His music just has that quintessential wintery feel to it.

The Flesh Prevails by Fallujah

saw someone mention this here recently, but cant for the life of me remember who it was. sidewinder maybe?? anyway I didn't really have any strong feelings for their first album so i was only cautiously interested in this but I was in a death metal mood so thought id take a shot at it. and well it is much better than the debut. kinda has that "death by drowning" feel to it (as best I can describe the sort of dreamy nature of it). its been something ive listened to quite a bit the last few days, which has been a nice surprise that I keep coming back to it

Words cannot describe my love for this album. I know it's a very unpopular opinion, but this Andrew Jackson Jihad album is my hands down favorite. I just found the download code inside my vinyl issue so I went and got the sucker. I think that every track is just absolutely killer on it, ooo I'm listening to it the second time tonight.

Tribal Jazz Rock from TexASS on lovely, lovely milky wax.

ladyislingering 12-16-2014 10:26 PM

today I bought two of my favorite albums (Carpenters' "Close to You" and ABBA's "Voulez Vous") as 8-track cartridges.

this is terribly impractical but I couldn't think of a better way to start my collection.

Watch The Throne - S/T

The track with Beyoncé makes me want to puke, but the rest is pure masturbatory bliss. I truly believe Hova and Mr. West jerked off every last drop of ego in this record.
