Considering your other posts is this just for today or in general?

Les Filles de Illighadad - At Pioneer Works (2021)

New album of a live performance from 'Les Filles de Illighadad' out of Abalak, Niger. This one hasn't quite grabbed me like their previous album on the first spin but still a good listen, overall.

UVB An Inquisite Taste

Bought this pretty recently, just waiting for my cassette copy to come in the mail. It's more of what I would want from him, hard, punishing stuff.

Elph, come hang at the avant-garde subforum sometimes, it's really nice over there (no beatles boomers).

jadis 08-04-2021 07:48 PM

I don't think anyone's posting about Boulez over there (I may have done one post but THATS IT) and musical categories are notoriously porous at any rate. It seems like a perfect place to post and discuss this kind of thing and krautrock and 23 Skidoo and whatnot.

jadis 08-04-2021 08:30 PM

I think I remember liking it but not as much as the first one, need to give it another listen.

check out that Obscured Radio thread when you have the time, i think you might really like some of it

dal:um - similar & different (2021)

Quote:

Dal:um is a musical duo based in Seoul, who challenges the sonic possibilities of Korea’s most well-known traditional string instruments: the gayageum and geomungo. Ethereal and otherworldly, Dal:um create a compelling soundworld that treasures subtle dynamics and the space between the notes.

Two musicians. Two weighty acoustic stringed instruments. A dialogue between traditional and experimental practices. A melding of both new possibilities and deeply travelled resonances.

Kim Jung Mi - Now (1973)

Quote:

At the dawn of the 1970’s, South Korea’s rock music scene was at its zenith. Much of the reason for this was the god-like musical touch of guitar wizard, songwriter, producer, and arranger Shin Joong Hyun. For this album, he took a young girl named Kim Jung Mi, and transformed her from a wallflower student into a folk-psych chanteuse in record time (if Francoise Hardy is the Marianne Faithful of France, then Kim Jung Mi is, I suppose, the Francoise Hardy of Korea.)

ABBA - Voyage

Mucha na Dziko 11-29-2021 03:08 PM

The last one I bought for myself would be an original brutish 1970 vinyl of Black Sabbath's debut album. It was a long time ago though, like when I was 16 or so. I have no idea how did that vinyl end up in some shady market place in Cracow in 2016.

The last album I bought overall was a fresh pressing of Joy Division's Closer. I bought it for my ex-girlfriend's birthday. Nearly a year ago. It was her favourite album, and even though she didn't have a record player, I thought it would be a nice touch. I was looking through vinyl shops for a vintage copy, but it was nowhere to be found in Warsaw.

I've never downloaded an album I believe. Unless clicking on the "download" button on Spotify counts. If it does, then the last one I downloaded was The Faces Ooh La La.

The last album I've listened to in it's entirety is Motor Booty Affair by Parliament. Just today.
God, I love this album. It's perfect from start to finish. It's like these people don't even need to intentionally play funk– it just flows through them; in it's purest and most advanced form.
Also, the title track has the single greatest bassline I've ever heard. It's been a favourite of mine ever since I picked up bass.

I had the strangest feeling when looking at that album cover. Some sort of brain lag.

I mean, it's the weirdest possible way I've ever seen "Brzezińska" or "бжежінска" written somewhere.

I get it it's probably phonetically correct, though I don't get why change your name to "Bzhezhinska" in the first place

The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones in Concert (40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)

Probably my second-favorite live album of all time, after (the electric side of) Dylan's Live 1966 "Royal Albert Hall" Concert. Can listen to Ya-Ya's forever and never get tired of it. And the Ya-Ya's version of "Carol" was the first tune I learned on guitar.
