Included in a new batch of things that came in from a favorite distributor in
Japan are some recordings of a young composer named Kenta Masuda who
customizes already existing instruments (ex: a valved instrument) and
those not considered instruments (ex: a bicycle). "19 Cycles" is kind of
an extension of Richard Lerman's "Travelon Gamelon"<sic> (or some
may remember Zappa playing a bicycle on the Steve Allen Show in 1963).

Today, we have important news to share with you.

After much discussion between the five of us at the end of last year, we have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus after 2022. This means 2022 will be our last year as Kikagaku Moyo.

We have come to the conclusion that because we have truly achieved our core mission as a band, we would love to end this project on the highest note possible. Since first starting as a music collective on the streets of Tokyo in 2012, we never, ever imagined being able to play all over the world for our amazing audiences. It is all because of you that this was ever possible…and to this we are eternally grateful.

With this in mind, our very last album will be released by Guruguru Brain on May 2022.

We enjoyed making this album so much and are incredibly excited to finally release it this spring for you.

Following our last album release, we will do our very last tours this spring and fall.

Tickets for the spring tours will go on sale on Jan 21st, and will be available for purchase on our website.

Fall west-coast tour will be announced on Jan 26th.

Please do not miss this chance to get your tickets, because there will be no next time ….

We sincerely thank all of you for your continuous support and cannot wait to see you all at our shows one last time.



I always take announcements of band breakups with a large grain of salt but if this truly is going to be their last album, then they're ending on a high note with their reputation intact. 10/10

Fourth album from this instrumental soul/funk/jazz group out of San Diego, California. Hasn't quite grabbed me the way their previous three albums did on the first listen but it might grow on me a bit more after a few spins.

This finally got an official release after 45 years. Better late than never and I'm glad I lived long enough to see it happen. Rowdy, raunchy & raw. Just the way the Stones should be in a live setting.

I got fifteen CDs in the mail yesterday. Five albums from Echo & The Bunnymen, five from Sisters of Mercy, and 5 from Dio. This morning was the first time I heard Holy Diver in its entirety.

The third album from 'Minami Deutsch' out of Tokyo, Japan. Just released yesterday, listening to it at this moment and, so far, I'm enjoying this one every bit as much as I enjoyed both of their previous albums.

The 2018 debut album from 'Scone Cash Players' just recently given a reissue on vinyl & CD from the Colemine record label. Instrumental soul/funk with Hammond B3 organ featuring prominently throughout. 10/10
