Interesting. I've never heard anyone say that. I prefer Grace Under Pressure and 2112 to those albums by a longshot. I think Rush really added far too much keyboard in certain albums and Presto would be one of them. I saw the Presto tour and while it wasn't overbearing listening to most of that album, the classics certainly brought the house down. There certainly seems to be a divide when it comes to Rush and what everyones favorites are. You could ask ten different Rush fans this question and come up with ten different answers.

Exit Stage Left is probably my favorite album from them, I think a lot of the tracks on it are actually better than the studio versions. I love Grace Under Pressure and 2112 too, though side two of 2112 is a little hit-or-miss.

I actually agree with everything said however the strength of side one on 2112 is pretty amazing. Exit Stage Left is outstanding. I think La Villa Strangiato and YYZ sound better live as described. You have good taste Jansz. Ego Boost.

Yep. That first impression faded a couple of minutes into the opener though.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Have you guys just never heard WLWH

MM is like an okay avant album where as WLWH is like the greatest album ever maybe

Transformer is one of my personal favorite albums of all time though
White Light White Heat is easily my least favorite Velvet Underground album. Just like Metal Machine Music is easily my least favorite Lou Reed album.

It's not that I just dislike avant-garde stuff or noise (rock) or Cree improv or anything like that in principle, but I'm probably a lot pickier when it comes to that stuff. And for one, I tend to only prefer avant-garde stuff that displays a lot of technical and compositional skill as well as compositional subtlety, sophistication and (varied) complexity. For example, Zs is one of my favorite artists on that end of the spectrum. Art Ensemble of Chicago, too. And I like a lot of classical like Stockhausen, George Crumb, etc.
