I haven't listened to as much stoner rock as stoner metal, but ****ing yes on The Sword and I haven't listened to much Orange Goblin but I remember liking them.

My interest tend to side more with Hard Rock than Heavy Metal. I didn't know there was Stoner Metal, or a divide between Stoner Rock and Stoner Metal. Stone Rock and Space Rock are sometimes used interchangeably for some bands. I don't know if there are strict distinction to made between the two genres other than Space Rock has space themes for song titles, or in the lyrics. Space Rock is pretty broad as far as style is concerned, it could be a band like Duster or RMFTM.

Stoner rock and stoner metal can and can't include the same bands, depending on just how much metal a band has in their sound. Kyuss are most definitely stoner rock, but are often also considered stoner metal just cause they're heavier than most. The biggest dividing line though is that much stoner metal generally also contains sludge and/or doom metal.

Unpopular opinion:

The first Hoobastank album--when they still spelled it "Hoobustank"--called They Sure Don't Make Basketball Shorts the Way They Used To... is not only one of the best albums of 1998, it's one of the best albums of the 90s period.

With his album Homebrew, Paul Lansky actualized the Cageian philosophy of instrumentation being endless better than Cage himself.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but Metallica is severely overrated. Great band, but overrated.

Unpopular among casual music listeners, popular among people who have heard more than ten metal bands.

That's kind of what I thought. But I wasn't sure. Good to know I'm not alone.

Meat Loaf's one of the greatest bands ever. Not Floyd or Doors level, but I'd say bottom half of top 100 if I had a full top 100.

I state this obvious one because of my hype for Braver Than We Are.

All Songs by Jim Steinman. That could mean this will be his best since Bat II, since Meat and Steinman make a nearly unbeatable musical pair.

Also, I've never seen a more badass album cover.
