I love the way they convey the themes of astral projection through their sound, and I think they do a fantastic job fusing together metal and jazz.

This seems to be the biggest place where we disagree. It reminds me a lot of the Jesu/Sun Kil Moon collaboration where they just took the two ideas and placed them alongside each other in the most uninspired way possible. It just feels like genre blending for the sake of genre blending without any of new ideas that breeding the two will spur.

I'll agree with you on the Jesu/Sun Kil Moon project, total letdown.

With motW however, I find they do such a great job with their sound that I can't help but get into it. I can understand why Batdork doesn't like it because they don't dress like Manowar or have cheesy pop hooks, but I honestly would have assumed you'd be fan.

Plus it's going to take way more than Leaving Your Body Map to make me vote against Zorn.

Maudlin of the Well - 1
Naked City - 2

what happened to this guy
