They're mediocre musicians but pretty great songwriters mate. You not being into the style doesn't take away from that.

And Yellow Submarine is garbage.

Paul had some phat and sexy bass riffs.

And I think you're just too used to your old-school metal safe-zone to appreciate modern metal.
Most metal is corny. It's one of the defining traits of the genre.

You seem to be unable to parse incompetent, misguided cheese from good cheese and often when I listen to one of your metal recs I'm struck hard in the face by cringe. You're the kind of person I'm surprised isn't into Avenged Sevenfold.

Melodic death metal > death metal.

If the genre didn't have such a shallow talent pool then you might at least be able to pick a fight. After a few top tier bands and a handful of outliers the whole thing just collapses into vapid mediocrity.

You're entitled to your opinion but you don't have to be a dick about it. Whatever.

And the lead single from Avenged Sevenfold's last album was allright if I recall correctly.

Whenever you start sounding like Nick1976, you're probably wrong.

I don't know. I admit Paul is more melodic but John's songs are so powerful. Lennon's my favorite Beatle too.

Except in this case it's true, along with most of the melodic metalcore that melodeath helped to inspire. I'm just going to assume that label interference caused a melodeath bubble that consumed the genre and drove most artists with talent and integrity away.
