There's plenty of classic rock I love but the majority of it, even the good stuff, has aged far worse than "arty *** rock for punk rock ***s" such as the Monks, Velvet Underground, Can, the Stooges, Suicide, the Modern Lovers, etc. Some prog rock manages to escape this such as King Crimson but tbh King Crimson should be in the latter category anyway but it got co-opted by ***gy prog fans so here we are. So if asked if I dig 60s and 70s rock by a pleb I'd be like "Hell yeah" but inside I'd be sneering like an ******* cause I know my asterisk would confuse them like the idiots they are.

This opinion is unpopular mainly because I'm an douchebag.

I wish there were more fruity, arty rock bands like Roxy Music. There probably is, but I'm too lazy to look.

Do you know Monks? Just fantastic. Gotta be the zaniest rock band of 1966.

So like, what are you trying to say? Or what's the popular take on this?

Just checked out the Monks album above. Must have been a really unhinged vocalist for the time. I wonder if they got real radio play.

I'm pretty sure that absolutely not. And he's a pretty unhinged vocalist for any time even if he's not top tier crazy **** any more.

TFW there's a weirdo in the advertising department who cares more about being a music nerd than his job.
