And if you've never done drugs, how do you even know? I've developed an appreciation for albums or artists while high or drunk that I've returned to sober and found myself appreciating it for similar reasons. You not doing drugs is cool, whatever, but it's wholly ignorant to have that knee jerk reaction that you're rocking.
I literally haven't dismissed that drugs can alter your perception of/appreciation of music.

And I haven't dismissed ambient entirely either. I've listened to plenty, but not yet found an artist that grabbed me. That's really as far as my negative attitude about the genre goes. The genre gets the same chance any other genre gets - which means I'm still returning to it once in a while.

I don't even know of any music that could be considered intimidating. Heard it all.

"If I need drugs to appreciate it, it must not be very good."

Sorry if I missed the nuance in that...

you can take that as my unpopular opinion not necessarily a response
Thinking that metal is about intimidation is like thinking that punk is about hating your parents.

Power electronics is pretty confrontational.

"Need" was the key word. It's really a very uncontroversial statement.

Probably because you've only showed me boring ass dream pop.

You're fine by me. Would take a lot for any bad mojo to develop so you don't have to agree with me if you think I'm saying bull****.
Not Dream Pop.
Wixel is more like Post-Rock and Ambient.
Marble Sounds is just Alternative Rock or indie.

Don't worry, your lack of knowledge on such things precludes you from being an authentic "Rock Snob."

Yes. Imagine being at an early performance of it, it'd be a life changer.

Lol at 1:36

Fairly intense, but (not knocking it, just relating it to the past conversation) it's still not exactly "intimidating" or something that makes me creep to safety. I don't know from where Elph has this idea that I'm sucking my pacifier whenever slightly rowdy music rolls by. I like a lot of fairly low key and melodic music, sure, but that's not all there is to it. I feel like if anyone could show me music that I would find difficult to stomach, it would have to be something that doesn't attempt to be super abrasive. That's old hat.
