Yes sir.

What kind of technical writing are you talking about?

In terms of understanding modern web development, HTML is the least of your worries. Javascript and all the accompanying libraries and frameworks are a lot more complex. I frequently work with PHP/Javascript - but also do backend development on our IBM server.

The kind that pays, basically. Where my advanced degrees and Fr/En bilingualism (we're talking Canada) would be assets but also preferably not Montreal cause my American gf is never getting a RN job here.

Trouble is, I'm not what you'd call a tech whiz. So I'm guessing a tech/grant writer in other areas, like ngos and stuff

I see - I can't really give much advice in the realm of tech writing, as that's not my thing - but if you're motivated, it couldn't hurt to get an entry level cert like the CompTIA A+ cert (shouldn't be that difficult for a smart guy like you to get) to show a prospective employer that you're willing to learn and know a thing or two about tech to supplement your credentials in writing/language, even if tech hasn't been your primary domain.

Thanks! Sounds like a good idea.

SGR's Employment and Career Advice Bureau: next up - what sort of job you can get if you're in your thirties and still live with your mom...

Do not want.

I'm happy to give advice when I can, but I'm only confident in giving advice for breaking into tech. If I could go back in time, I might have skipped a college education (to save money) and tried to get my foot in the door with only certifications. Oh well, live and learn.

If I ever start up my desired media outlet, The Monthly Jazz Review, in which we'll cover the latest and greatest in the world of beboppin' swingin' jazz music, you'll be the first one I offer a job to, Trolls. ;)

Ozzy's voice post-Sabbath is not great, and if someone covered the songs it would almost certainly be better.

Ozzy had a great voice, especially for Sabbath.

That said, I think Bill Ward should've sung a few more tunes for them.
