My Grandad's funeral song was My Way, what a great song to go to. I did it my way.

Get. Out. Now.

I havent been here long enough to know the general opinions of the MB population but I reckon the Beatles were overrated (especially their early stuff)

Anything until Help was bad, Help I have a soft spot for but is generally similar to the rest although it has a higher standard of songwriting, and Revolver onwards is absolute genius.

I think that's the general consensus around here..

Ooh, a director I don't like like doing a biopic of a musician who bores me. Sounds like a winner.

Oasis are better than the Rolling Stones.

Nirvana are overrated but a good band nonetheless.

90's Hip-Hop is ****ing amazing but the vast majority of any Hip-Hop produced in the 70's-80's is under-produced, simply-rhymed trash.

The 80's were a horrible era for everything music and fashion related, save Michael Jackson and Prince (sure there are a couple artists I am forgetting better making a point here).

Grunge is hardly a respectable genre.

The Strokes are overrated - sounds like another of the mill garage rock band to me. Arctic Monkeys are better than them. As is Kings of Leon, especially their first 2 albums.

Vampire Weekend are actually a good band, their first album is a personal classic.

George has the worst solo career of any Beatle.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are good band with some absolute classics but they might just be the most overrated, overplayed, and over-referenced band of the last 25 years.

Radiohead is for people that cut their wrists and are scared of a good rhythm.

Bob Dylan is better than his voice allows him to be.

With that being said, Dylan isn't much of anything save a good lyricist and a competent songwriter.

The Rolling Stones (as with many rock bands) are mixed horrendously. Why must Jagger have like 3-4 overdubs on every vocal? Alot of the music is cracking but I can barely understand most of the lyrics of Exile On Main Street.

The idea that Led Zeppelin isn't a top 3 band of all-time is absolutely ludicrous.

Queen doesn't get referenced enough as one of the greatest bands of all time.

The vast majority of indie music was created for people that can't dance and want to still feel relevant and cool... so they made a genre that "no one else can know about"... which really means, "no one else will LIKE" (because it's utter ****e).

"The Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani is a great pop tune.

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion here, or anywhere. (except maybe some kind of death metal or rap forum)

No way!
Oasis are in no way comparable to The Rolling Stones, Let It Bleed and Exile are 91877298197273717636671979874374 times better than anyting Oasis recorded.

80's horrible? Hardcore Punk, Post Punk, Jangle Pop, Gothic Rock, The Begginings of Shoegaze, Alternative, Art Pop, the eighties were great for all these genres.

The Strokes are overrated but Kings Of Leon aren't even in the same league, half the bands from the last decade wouldn't even be respected if they weren't inspired by Is This It.

George has the best! I mean you could argue for Lennon all day but Paul and Ringo are **** solo! Have you heard All Things Must Pass

Radiohead are for people who slit their wrists? That's a ridiculous statement, Sure they can be a little depressing but not all of them! And as for Rhythm listen to The National Anthem and then say that again.

Led Zeppelin aren't even ****ing top 10! Sure they wrote some classics, But also some massive piles of **** like Stairway. 4 and Houses Of The Holy are fantastic but other than that, Stolen songs and boring riffs which are in no way experimental is not top 3.

Im an Oasis fan, but no. Oasis made two stellar albums. You cant compare them to a band with a more consistent career spanning such a long time.

Nirvana may be overrated, fair enough.

There was plenty of good music in the Eighties. If you can only think of two artists in ten years that you like then maybe you shouldn't be making statements like that.

Theres not many bands that The Arctic Monkeys are better than. The Strokes arent one of them.

You prefer Ringo's solo stuff to Georges? Do your ears work alright?

So you're claiming that Radiohead can be depressing? Fair enough. Not all people who can appreciate "depressing" music are depressed or "slit their wrists".

If your only point about Bob Dylan was that he is great even though he cant sing, then fair enough.

If Led Zeppelin are #3 then who are #5, #4, #2 and #1?

Queen get plenty of recognition. They are an English treasure. I wouldn't fancy many artists to beat them sales-wise with any future posthumous releases. Shame they are shit.

I dont even understand what you were trying to say about indie music.

Questionable fashions aside, some of the best music came out of the 80s, what the **** are you talking about
