I reckon indie music is considered 'cool' and 'great' because there arent enough people to listen to one band and judge it. An indie band could be as crap as the Black Eyed Peas, or whatever, but since only a small handful of people listen to it, no one can truly judge whether it's good music or not. Some of these indie musicians are just scared of becoming famous and getting criticism, hence they started this whole 'all indie is great thing'

just my opinion.

Also, I agree with the Nirvana is overrated thing. They wouldnt have been so famous if Kurt didnt die.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think Smells Like Teen Spirit may have been a hit. Maybe.

Their legendary status would not be so high, but they were a big deal before Kurt died.

In their defence, Kurt was planning on changing the style to something more string based which shows he didn't just wanna churn out Neverminds for the rest of his career.

Yeah they were a pretty obscure band before that. I also think INXS and Blind Melon are overrated and only make all those greatest bands lists because of their dead frontmen.

Maybe you should try killing yourself, it'll help your band.

The Ramones were excellent.

Yeah their songs sounded alike, so does everything from Chuck Berry/Little Richard/James Brown/Bo Diddley/every goddamn blues musician ever/whatever. It's called having a style.

The Buzzc0cks were better though.
