I didn't like it at all. It just didn't click with me. And apparently Battles is a bad rip-off of The Arcade Fire, so you'd think I'd like it.

I don't really see much in common between the Arcade Fire and Battles tbh

I haven't really heard anything by Battles, I gotta admit, but if they are a sorta rip off band, I'm not terribly interested...

Me neither, but everybody was complaining about that, for some reason.

@ Scottsy:
they're not a ripoff, not at all, but the pitchfork crowd was complaining about it. Here's one of their songs:

They aren't even the same genre.

I just don't see how grouping unlike things under a unified banner makes any sense.

this happens all the time in music, though. look at post-rock, krautrock, post-punk, etc etc... they aren't so much descriptions of a SOUND, they're more just umbrella terms for a musical ideology or aesthetic. Swell Maps and Joy Division hardly sound similar, but they're definitely both post punk bands.

Classic rock is a particularly useless grouping though, in my opinion. I certainly don't think of Black Sabbath as a 'classic rock' band by any stretch of the imagination.

Me neither. In fact, I pretty much hated them after getting sick and irrated by their debut. But their new one is pretty enjoyable. He quit crying.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
