For the record, the most overrated genre is metal, where many bands people claim are revolutionary or amazing aren't really all that great. Some of them are quite good, but not to the extent that many people say.

Well, when it first came out it got so much critical praise that I can see how you'd feel that way, but regardless it's pretty hard to deny how influential it's been.
