Speaking of blues. I've always found the genre boring and find it a miracle that other great musicians/bands were inspired by the tom foolery and made something much more inventive.

Hendrix has never been classed as blues. Yes there are elements but Blues? nope. BB King is quite the accomplished blues wanker and plays many solos with funk, soul and jazz undertones whilst expanding the classic Blues solo.

Buddy Guy was influential on those other guys. It's a bit ironic too that Jimi Hendrix would be accused of "blues wanking," because Jimi wasn't strictly Blues, he didn't play Blues songs only and he pulled ideas from all over, incorporated them into his own style and made up stuff on his own stuff along the way too. I guess everybody has their own criteria for "guitar wankery."

EDIT: I was watching hockey while posting this and didn't see Jackhammer's response.

of course Hendrix isn't - but when he did play the blues, he usually wanked - Red House - the Blues album

BB King wanked? his solos always sound tasteful to me

They have admitted and been happy to discuss their influences, borrowing, and ripping off from day one. I don't really see why you think this.

There an interview where Noel Gallagher talks about his agent or someone, and how he often rings him up and tells him about such and such a band who have released something that sounds a little like Oasis, told him they would have a case and asks if he wants to do anything about it. He basically says he laughs in his face whenever he does it, and says that suing anyone would be extremely hypocritical.

I'll say that for them; they're a right pair of wankstains, but at least they're consistently fair wankstains who recognise their wankstaininess.

I don't even consider Noel Gallagher to be arrogant. I think they were both were initially, back at the height of their success, even though Noel was always the more relateable, even then. Liam has always been and always will be arrogant though.
