Not a bad song, really. Not excellent by any standards, but not bad.
Head Creeps is one of the weaker songs on the album honestly. It never seems to go anywhere. I love Frogs, God Am, and Over Now though. Grind is amazing as well.

Down On The Upside kind of encapsulated what Superunkown did except without as much darkness and distortion. It kind of showed where Cornell's solo career was headed. Speaking of that,

Chris Cornell's "Euphoria Morning" is a criminally underrated 90s classic.

I actually like Roxy Music. Albeit, it took me a while, but after some time I've grown to appreciate and enjoy their music.

I've tried several times, believe me, but something just doesn't click. I had the exact same problem with 10cc, but somehow they managed to get through eventually.

I love the early music, some of the most groundbreaking sounds of The 70's. Back in the day, I liked Avalon (I was a kind of hipster kid in a BFE then), but now I find their Late 70's-Early 80's music to be kind of bland while albums like For Your Pleasure, Country Life and their debut still remain great to my ears. To me, they were one of the great bands that sparked so many lesser lights - sadly with the later albums helping out that trend in the 80's.

I kind of understand the opinions on Bryan, though (I still cringe when I hear his version of "Jealous Guy").

Superunknown was still a group effort. That's why it was more distorted and dark... Kim Thayil has a big riff based Sabbath guitar style. He didn't have much input for Down on the Upside so it actually is essentially a Chris Cornell solo album. It kind of upset Kim and contributed to them breaking up.

Avalon is listenable and melodic. But I agree with what was said earlier they did some crap songs as well elsewhere.

Maybe 'unmelodic' wasn't the right word. They were certainly melodic, but I don't care for those melodies. Apart from that, I definitely see how they were groundbreaking (the whole post-punk/new wave-era owes big time to RM), but in their own right I simply don't find them the least bit interesting.
