I am sure if I took the time to study him I could find interest. I find Jim Morrison to be a great frontman and interesting person, I just am not huge on The Doors. I like what he represents, I just do not like the music he creates all that much. That is all it is with him.

Well, somebody else might.

Paul Morrissey could beat up Steven Morrisey though.

Morrissey to me is Bono for the jaded.

Ooh sorry Morrissey doesn't fit into your punx ethos. Dyou know punk is dead?

For this reason alone, his image is just as influential as his music. Somebody may like one without the other.

I never said that. However, tell me more about punk dying.

Punk is dead in a mainstream sense, but it is very much alive in the underground, where it belongs. It is touring still for next to nothing in dive bars, it is being played in basements at parties, it is being dragged kicking and screaming through the dirt while 20 angry rednecks kick that crap out of it, it is being spit on by scene kids and having garbage thrown at it... it is also kicking people's asses in small dive clubs though.

I will look into it more. I admit I know little of him personally.

I`m surprised at that, given your obvious wide knowledge of music.

I think Chi Pig from SNFU said it best in the song "gaggle of friends".

Me, I play in a punk rock band
Don't see it as a fault
I may not be the richest
but I'm doing what I want

also, tell that to Ian MacKaye, Jello Biafra, Henry Rollins, Joey Sh*thead, Fat Mike and others.... who have ran successful indie labels on top of of making music. Stables jobs I say.

who are more or less "mainstream". Yeah, k. What about the others that are so "underground" and playing in dive bars, yeah?

Bravo! This is perfect and so true. I couldn't have said it any better myself!
