I agree that modern hardcore is boring as watching paint dry, it's been completely ruined by straight-edge preaching. Well ok moshing might be a bit of excitiment but that's all your going to get out of it. Bands should just get high and make hardcore sound dangerous again.

The Ramones sound more like Rock N Roll then Punk as the years go on... and they aren't lame.

As a fan of both genres I think its mad retarded that some people still feel that theres some kinda war going on between punk and prog. |

I'd say. I don't mind that some people hate prog but stuff like this is just asinine. Death to the Beatles. The History Of Punk - Art Or Revolution? History Of Punk - Genesis, ELP & Yes The History Of Punk - Tommy, Jethro Tull, Rick Wakeman & King Crimson I know some prog fans can be pretty closed minded too, but goddamn, nothing like a bitter old limey punk to get under this proggies skin. Yeah, but theres always new movements. And I must say, prog is doing a lot better than punk right now, we have a lot of hot bands coming out of the woodwork that are prog (TMV, Battles, Muse, Oceansize, Kayo Dot, Coheed & Cambria, Fall of Troy, Mew, Secret Machines) while no punk band has been relevant since the 90s. So yeah, thats great irony considering some people never seem to shut up about how "punk killed prog" Which was never true, prog collapsed under its own weight and overexposure, punk just further pushed it into obscurity. But now that we have a lot of these bands bringing the genre back on its feet and making it relevant again, well I think its great. Last edited by boo boo; 05-09-2008 at 12:42 PM. |
