The problem is you haven't heard the melody in it yet.
a melody that appeals to you.
You once you hear that and start to explore that interest and familiarize yourself with the music Metal is as good and profound as any other genre.

Im still gradually getting into it and even though it's not my fav genre im starting to hear the melody in it..
yea i figured that's it. it's just a rough genre to get into if you grew up never hearing anything like that i guess. i mean tbh when i first listened to jazz it was the most boring **** i ever heard. but i pushed myself to listen to it some more cause i was a teenager trying to prove how elitist i could be and then after a while i stopped giving a **** about the image but somehow coltrane can entertain me for hours now. still can't listen to some of the free jazz bull**** i used to pretend to enjoy though.

i got some spare time in the next few days so i'll try to check it out. i won't lie i'm sorta open minded but also i have ADD like a mother****er so i can get turned off quick and give up and move on to something else. we'll see if i still have it in me to broaden my horizons.

Metal is a vast genre of music, like, as vast as vast gets. Diversity? Metal has that. Originality? Metal has that. The growling/and or screaming/and or howls and so forth? I don't care for straight screaming and such in my Metal through every song, because I feel a powerful, clean vocal delivery can be just as effective in music as heavy as Metal is, and can be. But I do like the screaming/and or growling, whatever...as well, pumps me up. I just have always preferred clean vocals.

There are countless amounts of people that cite Metal as not being a valid form of music because they think it is just a bunch of noise, but those people either don't get it, it scares the hell out of them, or they're just idiots. Every kind of music, in whatever form, whether I am a fan of it, is music...

Anyway. METAL FOREVER!

That was a Pegazus reference? I thought I was the only one on Earth who'd ever even heard of the band.

Yup. I know of them, but don't listen very much.

Small world. You really are the first person I've known since I was fourteen who'd even heard of them.

I've tried and tried but I really can't understand how people enjoy indie music with its stupid instruments (banjos, harmonicas, whatever else have you) shitty vocalists, boring ass lyrics, boring ass song structures....

god, just put me on a fucking codeine drip, at least I'd enjoy myself.
