The Beatles are average

The only reason they're held in such high regard is because everyone looks at them through rose tinted glass. They're not that great at all, and quite a lot of their work was cheesy boy bandish stuff. They definitely don't deserve most of the hype and credit they recieve

Forget opinions in this case you're just wrong.

im not the biggest Beatles fan but i recognise they were great musicians that made great music. way above average, i wonder by what bands you're measuring "average" cause for them to make The Beatles average they must be extraordinary musicians, which bands are those?

I like the Beatles; But I am a bigger fan of Pet Sounds than any other single Beatles album. I think OVERALL the Beatles were probably better than the Beach Boys but if I had to choose one single album from both discographies to listen to forever, and couldn't listen to any other album by either band, I would pick Pet Sounds.

All of that said I probably wouldn't agree the Beatles were average; But as Ninetales said they also aren't the greatest band ever.
