Like I said in another thread, Em is talented and I like his first two albums but none of his albums have been as great as Tupac's 7 Day Theory of Illmatic. I am not refering to impact, I am referring to overall artistry, lyrical word play and delivery.

What songs does he have that you consider classics?

How are songs like Just Lose It, Slim Shady, Ass Like That, Shake That, etc classics or lyrically compelling? Em is clever and witty with his lyrics but he is no where in the same category as genius Nas. Eminem would even tell you that.

The RHFO inductions are artists who made an cultural impact on the industry not necessarily rock music specifically. There are a ton of artists before those two that were not rock artists.


Beastie Boys did not deserve to get in before WAR, a band that came out before them and had a bigger influence. They always snub the black bands.

Eminem is not better than Nas. I don't care how popular he is.

People, including me, are commenting on Illmatic because it's the kind of album that always makes "best hip hop of the 90s" type lists and we feel it's overrated. Regardless of whether you like it or not, it's certainly not some overlooked thing that only the select few appreciate.
