Tears for Fears are rated just fine. They have a superb album (The Seeds of Love), a few good albums, and a few meh albums. There are few out there that have much bad to say about them and few out there that will rave about them. Overall they fulfill a great little role in the world of music

They're still famous after a long time my time but they deserve to be. I think their notoriety is appropriate but I also think most be probably forget how good their best stuff actually is.

Brian May and Angus Young are fine guitar players (Brian May moreso), but they're no guitar gods.

Jimmy Buffett is actually pretty good. His album A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean is basically solid gold all the way through.

I actually watched Tears For Fears perform "Shout" live last year and they intrigued me enough for literally just that song. Then I was off to watch whatever fucking band sounded better at the time.
