At least nu-metal can have some seriously heavy grooves and cool sound effects. I'd also prefer a load of forced angst over Chad Kroeger singing an ode to his ****.

The singer makes me cringe. What's his name, Glen Benton? No wait, wrong guy. Umm... (Googling it) Chester Bennington.
I did have a (very shortlived) Linkin Park phase when their first album came out. I'll admit it.

Funny. I hated Linkin Park as a kid til more recent years. Started to enjoy them in more recent years.

Nu metal satisfies the only criteria that I look for in music, or anything else in life for that matter: Does my mom dislike it? If the answer is yes (like with nu metal), then I LOVE IT. I'm so badass.

Anything else than country music would count as rebellion against my parents now, then.

Guess this proves that it's not bandwagon jumping when I still insist that Nickelback is a truly awful band. The kings of banal, tasteless blandness with absolutely no soul. Nu metal also pretty much deserves its bad reputation, strange recent come-back of the genre be damned (except Velcra, they're pretty good). So... Where's the Nu-metal and Nickelback apologists hiding on musicbanter? I know you people are out there!
I don't disagree with anyone's opinion on Nickelback, but if you're just kickin' back and not worrying about what you're listening to there's still a few fun songs to chill out to.

To be fair, the Russian Sleep Experiment is superior to any nu metal.

That would be rap, country, and anything that's not rock or metal to be rebellious against my parents.

Is "fun" code for music so bad it's unjustifiable to listen to? Because that's the only context I've seen you use that word in to describe music.

I use the word fun to describe bands that just rock out and don't worry about experimenting or trying to do something unique.

You've never shown any appreciation for the word "fun" so I'm just gonna assume you're ignorant of the word.
