80's horrible? Hardcore Punk, Post Punk, Jangle Pop, Gothic Rock, The Begginings of Shoegaze, Alternative, Art Pop, the eighties were great for all these genres.

The Strokes are overrated but Kings Of Leon aren't even in the same league, half the bands from the last decade wouldn't even be respected if they weren't inspired by Is This It.

George has the best! I mean you could argue for Lennon all day but Paul and Ringo are **** solo! Have you heard All Things Must Pass

Radiohead are for people who slit their wrists? That's a ridiculous statement, Sure they can be a little depressing but not all of them! And as for Rhythm listen to The National Anthem and then say that again.

Led Zeppelin aren't even ****ing top 10! Sure they wrote some classics, But also some massive piles of **** like Stairway. 4 and Houses Of The Holy are fantastic but other than that, Stolen songs and boring riffs which are in no way experimental is not top 3.
Rolling Stones have made some fantastic music but most of their albums (including the ones you mentioned) sound like cliche bluesy-country-rock I could hear at any bar west of the Mississippi. No doubt they have made some undeniably great **** but I'd put Oasis, The Kinks, Zeppelin, Queen, etc. over them to name a few

Pretty much every genre you mentioned for the 80's is ****e, save maybe some shoegazing

**** The Strokes

All Things Must Pass = one of the most overrated albums ever. And this is coming from a Beatle fanatic. Every single Lennon solo project (excluding those done with Yoko) is better. Paul has many classic solo albums, ignoring some of his 80's stuff... Ringo had an understanded if extremely listenable solo career, much like his Beatles tracks

Radiohead is for people who slit their wrists and are scared of a good rhythm. A few sad/forlorn songs is alright to keep a career interesting but who wants to be the Wes Craven of rock and roll? Mind you that I think some of their work is fantastic, namely their first two albums, but I'm more into uplifting music

Stairway is a pile of crap? That's a laugh

A director you don't like? How can you not like Scorsese?! Although when I heard the format of this film I was disappointed. I thought it would be someone playing him from start to finish (like A Beautiful Mind) but they're gonna do it like that Dylan biopic (I'm Not There) so meh, I'm looking less forward to it.

Sorry to drift into film from unpopular musical opinions.

Nirvana may be overrated, fair enough.

There was plenty of good music in the Eighties. If you can only think of two artists in ten years that you like then maybe you shouldn't be making statements like that.

Theres not many bands that The Arctic Monkeys are better than. The Strokes arent one of them.

You prefer Ringo's solo stuff to Georges? Do your ears work alright?

So you're claiming that Radiohead can be depressing? Fair enough. Not all people who can appreciate "depressing" music are depressed or "slit their wrists".

If your only point about Bob Dylan was that he is great even though he cant sing, then fair enough.

If Led Zeppelin are #3 then who are #5, #4, #2 and #1?

Queen get plenty of recognition. They are an English treasure. I wouldn't fancy many artists to beat them sales-wise with any future posthumous releases. Shame they are shit.

I dont even understand what you were trying to say about indie music.
Disagree with the first point, nothing really more to say about it.

As I said I'm making a point about the 80's. I'm sure with some thought there are probably 10-15 artists/bands who were good in the 80's, but compared to any other decade, including the 50's, that's friggin' pitiful. Obviously the 00's were mostly crap but at least we didn't have to bear through that atrocious 80's production... the same old synths, the same old snares, the same cheesy reverb... and that spanned genres. The Smiths, there's another good 80's group.

"A Certain Romance", "When The Sun Goes Down", "Crying Lightning", "Brianstorm", etc. etc. Great band. And there's more

Solo George tried to be too complex structurally and melodically in his solo stuff. Put me to sleep. If I want to listen to art rock I'll... no, I just won't.

"Radiohead is for people who slit their wrists and are scared of a good rhythm. A few sad/forlorn songs is alright to keep a career interesting but who wants to be the Wes Craven of rock and roll? The Beatles are number one, Zeppelin is number two... don't see how that's not obvious lol

I really have nothing to say against Dylan. Too many good songs/projects. He might be a tad overrated in the fact that SO many people suck his **** but other than that he's amazing

Queen is crap? That's a laugh

Modern indie rock is for hipsters with no rhythm. Full stop

I'd be able to take that opinion more seriously if you didn't have Led Zeppelin listed as one of the best bands ever.
