I can't really put these in any order, or i'll be here all night! So I'll just list 'em.

Hotel California~Eagles This was the only good album that I had available to listen to at my first job-- an amusement park gift shop called Rock n' Roll Revue!

Meddle~Pink Floyd This was my first foray into the early works of the Floyd. It was so pastoral and so different from all the mainstream stuff. Echoes just sucked me in.

Katy Lied~Steely Dan The Dan have such a groove going on in this album. Super jazzy, lounge lizard music! I love a lot of their albums but this is the one i can listen to from beginning to end without skipping any songs.

BarnStorm~Joe Walsh Most people don't understand the greatness of Joe. He has a way of combining classical infulences with hard driving, groove ridden, guitar rock.

Portishead~Portishead I don't noramlly listen to Trip-hop, but this album is hauntingly stunning. Highly Reccommended.

Metallica~...And Justice For All I hated this when it first came out. But now I can't live without those punishing guitar riffs!

The Who~Sell Out This album is not just music, it's an experience. I love the "commercials" between songs. The best song is Rael, parts of which were used on the Tommy album in Sparks.

Best of~ Van Morrison I know best of albums are a cop out but it was this one that really got me into the soul of Van Morrison. From there I got Astral Weeks, and Moondance. Also it has a super moving version of Wonderful Remark, which I like better than the original.

Thriller~Michael Jackson I was a little kid when this came out and It was one of those albums that stayed with me for years. Brilliant!

Leo Kottke~6 and 12 String Guitar This was my first introduction to Leo. Amazing guitarist. I was hooked the first time I heard it.

I'm going to define 'Most Important', not as the 'coolest' albums or even 'favourite' albums but as the albums that had the greatest bearing on the long musical journey I've taken through my life.

Various - '50 Years of Disney Favorites 1923 - 1973'
This was the first album I ever owned and therefore my introduction to the whole wonderful concept. Also, it's better than about 90% of all NME lauded indie hopefuls.

Kate Bush - 'The Kick Inside'
Another first, this time the first contemporary pop album I can remember hearing. It had 'Wuthering Heights' on it which is always going to make an impression.

Madonna - 'True Blue'
I had plenty of singles but this was the first album I went out and bought of my own accord. It's very of its time and therefore even now has some nostalgic value.

Iron Maiden - 'Somewhere In Time
The cover caught my eye at the local library, I was roughly the age when gun toting zombie cyborgs seem incredibly cool. This age is 12 years old. I liked the guitar solos and the energy of it all. Chart music gets dumped for a few years of metal obsession. It was the eighties, it's where things were at back then.

Mudhoney - 'Big Muff, Super Fuzz'
Stolen from Tower Records while skipping school during those difficult teenage years. I thought it was a metal record because they were head banging on the front. It wasn't, it was much better than metal. Metal now gets ditched for punk, grunge and anything noisy by not silly like Helloween and Dio albums.

The Smiths - 'Hatful of Hollow'
Friend played it to me on a cassette tape. Blown away by the music and lyrics. Now music doesn't need to be loud for me to like it. Development of sensitivities seems to suggest some kind of maturing process previously thought impossible.

Various - The Incredibly Strange Music Compilation
Bought it in a second hand store because Jello Biafra wrote the liner notes. Another a couple more lessons learned - one, its cooler to be weird than cool, and two, there was plenty amazing, odd and crazy stuff made before you were born.

Orange Juice - Ostrich Churchyard
Again picked up by sheer serendipity in a second hand store. Now my favourite album by my favourite band.

Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
I've only had this a couple of years. I include it because I always 'thought' I hated Bob Dylan but it turned out it was mainly because I'd 'imagined' what I thought Bob Dylan sounded like and hated my own idea. It's wise to always be open minded as regards music, even music you 'think' you don't like. The first four tracks on this album are without doubt the best four opening tracks of any album ever.

Alabama 3 - Soul Revolver
I've not even heard it yet, I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. It could be good or it could be bad but I've included it because it's the Next Album I'll Own. Music is such a huge part of my life I can't imagine life without it. Life without new music, good or bad, would be intolerable.

The Specials - The Specials
Was the first time I felt the power of the lyrics and how it reflected life at the time as I saw it. Tracks "Too Much too Young", "Concrete Jungle", "Doesn't Make it alright" & others. Interestingly 30 years on the lyrics are still reflective in much of day to day life now.

Bob Marley - Survival
I'd only really heard commercial reggae at the time as sweet as it still is but Survival opened me up to more harder/rootsy Reggae music

Frank Zappa & Mothers - Were only in it for the money.
My Dads album originally (long time passed on to me) was the first Trippy album I listened to. As a Kid I felt it Strange, Scary, Funny, Brilliant, ****, ***, and inventive. Today I see it the same.

Oasis - Definately Maybe
On first listen every single track hit the mark. I still enjoy each of the tracks equally. A wonderful debut that kinda gave British Rock a new lease of life. It was Rock n Roll.

The Beatles - 1962 - 1966
All their early hits on one double album helped me see how they progressed as pop stars and inspired a lasting love in me for pop music, which has since receded due to maturity.

Pink Floyd - Wish you were Here.
An outstanding album and one that includes "Shine on You Crazy Diamond". What an experience. I'll never forget how I felt whilst stoned lay on my floor in my flat as a teenager with the Speakers next to my ears like gigantic Headphones coming into my head. A Haze.

on the subject of Haze...

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are you Experienced.
An early introduction for me as to how an Electric Guitar can be played by some people. An electric journey with just a squeeze of trippiness. From this I got right into Jimi & Co.

Blancmange - Happy Families
I became a fan of the Duo for about short while. Away from the guitars they gave my musical journey a new direction. I met them and both band members signed all my records and were lovely guys. They put us both on Guest list for Manchester Apollo Gig in early 80's. Top fellers. This is a treasured album although I don't listen to it much now.

The Tarrantino Connection - Compilation Soundtrack Album
Love his films and as a Selecter his tunes in those films always please. So much variety on this album.

Love - Forever Changes
This album allows me to drift into hippydom anytime I play it. I love it.

10. Argus - Wishbone Ash
Only a very recent discovery, but it really amazed me.
9. Sticky Fingers - The Rolling Stones
Pretty much heard this my entire life with no choice.
8. Everybody Knows this is Nowhere - Neil Young
Another one I grew up on. As its songs receive less attention than Sticky Fingers I prefer it more.
7. Strange Days - The Doors
There's a mysteriousness I love about the songs on this album. When I think of The Doors, it's this album that comes to mind.
6. You Could Have it So Much Better - Franz Ferdinand
A really great band and album in comparison to a lot that's out these days. It hooked me the first time I heard it and because of it I haven't completely lost faith in the future of rock music.
5. The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
A really great work of art if you ask me.
4. The fourth Led Zeppelin album
Minus Stairway which I just skip, all of the songs are favourites of mine. I love the riffs and sounds on this album.
3. Wheels of Fire - Cream
Cream does amazing things to me and this is them at their best if you ask me.
2. Ramones Mania - The Ramones
The first album I bought with my own money. I usually hate compilation albums, but it really doesn't matter with the Ramones. It has all their best songs and there was a time I listened to it on loop all day.
1. Diamond Dogs - David Bowie
Certainly wasn't his best musically, but it really showed me how amazing rock music. It was what seriously got me into music.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
