i.e. Shakira music videos.

Mine is probably Bono, my brother and mom (especially her!) adore U2.

I had never heard of this guy so I just looked him up on wikipedia but I wasn't able to figure out based on the entry why he's worthy of antichrist status. What's the story? What about him sucks so much?

He picks a good song and ruins it with ****ty production and a crap singer to cover it or....

He picks a **** song and makes it worse and gets a crap singer to cover it.

If there's one thing worse than ****ty covers, it's ****ty covers of songs that are only a few years old.

The thing is it's all so calculated, his covers are often nothing more than just sticking a few trumpets over the top and getting a few famous names to sing over it. That cover of Just is the most uninspired crap ever.

Although I have to agree that I'm not a big fan of Fall Out Boy (EMO city), you can't possibly think that a band like Fugazi, Joy Division, Fuel, and Interpol are horrible...seriously???
Well, Joy Division is not now, nor has ever been considered "Emo", at least not anyone who knows they're goth/darkwave. This isn't my opinion, this is just about every DJ/fan who's ever played one of their records

Quote:
Bjork - I think she's one of the most influential musicians in the modern world. Listening to her first 2 CDs Debut and Post alone should give the listener an inclination of how talented she is. The singles Human Behavior and Army of Me alone shows her range of musical tastes. Besides, with 15 million CDs sold under her belt before she came out w/ her latest effort (Volta), I think she's loved by many. Trust me, it's not because of what she wears, but how she performs that generates such huge numbers.
I dislike her very much so. I saw the Sugarcubes back in '88, and she was @ the helm, and she sucked, the whole set they did sucked. I haven't liked her since, infact, I don't own a single song or cd by her or any of her bands.

Quote:
Celebrity DJs - If you mean an actual "A-list" celebrity, then I'll agree w/ you there, but when it comes to celebrity status within the DJing world, oh come on! Are you telling me that Judge Jules, John Digweed, Chris Liebing, Carl Cox, Paul Van ****, Armin Van Buuren and Sasha are terrible? Maybe I can meet you half-way w/ Tiesto (because he's gotten a bit soft), but I can't possibly stand by your assertion that the aforementioned DJs are "anti-music." I may also agree w/ you on the fact that they aren't entirely musicians, but are masters of mixing beats in such a fashion that each person's technique has a unique sound that differentiates one from the other. Here's some examples of their work on compilations:

I shouldve made a better clarification: I mean ****ty celebrity DJ's like: Danny Masterson, "The Worlds hottest DJ", etc.

Not people like you've listed above, all of those guys are true innovators in the biz. Benji/Joel Madden are not "dj's", they're 2 ****ty little *******s, who just "DJ" to try to make money, thats what I mean.

Quote:
Tommy Lee - Although I've never been a big Motley Crue fan (with a few exceptions), his solo stuff was pretty horrid. I just put him in here because I've heard him spin in Denver last year and the set was really tight. I was actually surprised that he was that good @ DJing...
He's not "very good" @ DJing, not even in the same vicinity as "Very Good", he sucks infact.

Quote:
American Idol? I'm not a big fan of the show myself, but some of the people to come out of there have some serious depth to their voices. I'll agree w/ Carrie Underworld but not just because she's beautiful. Even though he didn't win, David Archuleta was amazing. I'm sure he's going to surpass David Cook w/o a doubt.

Oh yes, Carrie can sing, regardless of whether or not most here think she can't. Plus, being absolutely gorgeous does help her cause in my eyes.

Besides those reservations, your list is pretty accurate...
Thanks, believe me I have more.....
