Do you just want to avoid the song because it's their most popular? Because it truly is a great song.

guitargirl_93 12-14-2008 10:35 AM

Considering I stopped being a teeny bopper only two years ago..I have a lot of shameful secrets.

I enjoyed Miley Cyrus's "Breakout" album..
I own all of the Jonas Brothers CD's (Although, I HATE the latest one)
I own all of Aly & AJ's albums and think they are quite good and catchy.
Britney Spears was the first CD I ever got.
I own three Aaron Carter albums.
I own two Backstreet Boys albums.
I own the Cheetah Girls soundtrack.
I own about 8 Kidz Bop albums.
The Naked Brothers Band really aren't THAT bad for their age.

*hangs head in shame*

I should stop. Thank GOD I escaped that.

I think I win.

At this time, I currently own all the nickelback albums. Because I bought them all for my cousin, for christmas.

I'll take John Lennon's "Mind Games" over any Beatles album.

I prefer this album:

To Bringing It All Back Home.

I love Steve Jones' "Fire And Gasoline"

I bought a Cyndi Lauper album (new, not used) to impress one of my friends.

There was a time when Voodoo Lounge was, hands down, my favorite Stones album.

I sold my copy of Pet Sounds to buy an Oasis album (I'm proud of this one, not embarrased, but it's the kind of thing that makes people want to lynch you).

anticipation 12-14-2008 12:11 PM

i have never heard a single radiohead song.

Guybrush 12-14-2008 12:17 PM

I like quite a few "Mighty Rhapsody" songs .. and I like some of the synthpop hits from the 80s like Sandra's "Maria Magdalena" or Samantha Fox's "Nothing's Gonna Stop me Now".

It's a bit embarassing, but compared to some of you other freaks, maybe not so much. ;)

jackhammer 12-14-2008 12:18 PM

I own 'The Best Of Sade' and like three quarters of it-a lot.

I play bass in a 'hard rock' band in my town, we suck balls but people still come to see us in little charity gigs even though are vocalist is sh*t and can't write a song to save his life.

My secret is I adore most singer-songwriters and happy-go-lucky pop when they think I listen to the same crap music as them. I write songs but haven't showed it to my bandmates because they are *******s and would never play them. They aren't experimental, progressive, etc. and wouldn't want to try it. But I stay with them anyways because they are my close friends and I enjoy playing with them, just not the actual music we play. I also want to make our sound different with weird dubs and whatnot, but they just thought it sounded like sh*t...

On here? Probably the sad fact that I have 10k Beatles plays on Last Fm, comprising of 1/3 of my total plays...

I sympathize. I think that happens a lot. When I was in my teens I was in this crappy metal band with a group of guys whose taste in music was pretty much limited to the Metallica to Led Zeppelin range. They weren't very receptive to my ideas about trying to go in other directions but it was fun while it lasted. It wasn't until I got into my 20s that I started working on music with people who had a broader musical vision.

Barabajagal 12-14-2008 02:37 PM

I own four Saves the Day albums and I still listen to them when I'm feeling nostalgic....

I thoroughly enjoy Styx, and sometimes listen to their albums straigh through (except for Cornerstone, when they treaded Barry Manilow territory). I am strongly of the opinion that they have written some great riffs. Oh well.

Nothin' to be ashamed of, my friend :D

gunnels 12-14-2008 05:05 PM

I hate oasis because they hate system of a down.
Yes, I'm that much of a stingy brat.

jackhammer 12-15-2008 02:52 AM

I have to admit to liking both Stereophonics and Feeder yet they are completely unoriginal and safe.

I just gained a little bit of respect for Oasis.

spark10036 12-15-2008 07:58 AM

I have "Take on Me" by A-ha on my ipod:hphones:

the truth is I don't really like the song, but I really love the music video, especially after I watched a parody on Family Guy

Zer0 12-15-2008 08:01 AM

I bought a copy of Nickelback's Silver Side Up :D i bought it when it first came out years ago lol. I dont listen to it anymore tho!! I also have a copy of The Darkness Permission To Land which i do admit rocks like a bastard. I've also seen Feeder twice in concert.

Holy **** I suck...I've seen Scorpions twice in concert, and the second time I traveled 120 miles to see them

Fraig 12-15-2008 12:22 PM

Quad City DJ's- Get On Up and Dance

Come on ride the train....
Anyone remember this crap?

MSPaintClock 12-15-2008 02:01 PM

I like a lot of 80s pop.

I'm fairly certain part of the reason they don't like SOAD is beacuse they are soft rockers that don't like metal in general, not because of any special intelligence on their part <_<

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-15-2008 03:21 PM

I don't have any.

I listen to whatever I want I couldn't care less what you fuckers think.

Comus 12-15-2008 03:24 PM

Urban has it right, can't really have guilty secret pleasures in the age of last.fm

Oh I know.......I figured that out when the Jonas Brothers became my most played artist.

It's a really great pop song.

Akira 12-15-2008 05:06 PM

^^ Agreed, and one hell of a voice.

Sneer 12-15-2008 05:09 PM

I think that Craig David album Born To Do It is good. I must dig that out

Akira 12-15-2008 05:10 PM

Lol, it does have a few half decent tracks. Once In A Lifetime for example. Nothing earth shattering.

jackhammer 12-15-2008 05:28 PM

I like Pat Benetar. Her music was fairly bland at times but she has a mean voice on her.

FaSho 12-15-2008 05:42 PM

Carly Simon is amazing.

Akira 12-15-2008 05:43 PM

I hate Carly Simon.

"you're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you"

...it is about him, she's singing to him, about him.

He's not vain, she's obsessed with him.

It could be about an archetype (and considering the rather exotic nature of the exploits, probably is), so any specific individual thinking it is about him would be wrong and perhaps vain.

Akira 12-15-2008 05:58 PM

The Knack - My Sherona is one of the most fun guitar solos to air guitar to and is also sadly underrated as far as solos go.

My Sherona is quite possibly one of the finest tracks ever committed to vinyl. I love this song so much.

In fact let's have a blast:

Akira 12-15-2008 06:49 PM

'Tis also fun on Rock Band.

All hail The Knack

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-15-2008 06:53 PM

I hate that song
