My Sharona is an instant station changer for me. Get me as far away from that song as possible.

MSPaintClock 12-15-2008 08:23 PM

i like boys like girls

RoemerMW 12-15-2008 10:10 PM

The first album I ever bought was by Nickelback, and that was only two years ago. God damn I'm glad I've changed since then.

Seltzer 12-15-2008 10:33 PM

I think My Sharona is a cool song. But given how frequently I heard it in the 90s I'll bet it was overplayed as hell when it actually came out... so I can see why it might piss off some.

The bassline is fun to play too. :D

Son of JayJamJah 12-15-2008 11:38 PM

I frequent Music Banter

Janszoon 12-16-2008 12:36 AM

I've been known to listen to Jimmy Buffet from time to time.

Doesn't stop them from being correct on SOAD being a **** band. I still don't understand the praise they get on this forum.

khfreek 12-16-2008 06:19 AM

Did you read lucifer_sam's thread on them? It was a good read, and it explains why they are so important regardless of whether you like them or not.

I was so impressed with Rick Allen I tried to beat up my girlfriend with one hand tied behind my back.

DearJenny 12-16-2008 08:10 AM

I went to a Fallout Boy concert on sunday(because they're so damn catchy, I know the words and I never even tried to learn them!). I love Pink, especially her latest album, because "So What" helped me with my breakup. I love going to the club because mainstream rap music is completely danceable. This list can go on...

my mom went through a brainwash in my house...at one point when I was in my System of A Down phase, she actually told me she liked "Soldier Side" and particularly Serj Tankian's tenor singing.

Double X 12-16-2008 04:09 PM

BTW, to add on, when I was younger my mom would drive me to baseball and play alanis morrisette. She has one song (Hands In My Pocket) that I actually know the lyrics too and it is on my computer...under a false name so it won't show up on Last.Fm if I ever listen to it.

MURDER JUNKIE 12-16-2008 04:28 PM

I actually like a few Grateful Dead songs and have attended a concert :(

FaSho 12-18-2008 02:52 PM

I own and frequently listen to this:

I prefer "View to a Kill" by Duran Duran, but I still think that puts us on about even footing.

I used to be a huge ska freak, that only listened to ska and almost nothing else. Then, for some reason, I just stopped listening to ska and started listening to super hardcore extreeeeeeeeeeme metalcore. Then I sudden stopped listening to that and began to listen to Mr. Bungle.

FaSho 12-19-2008 05:05 AM

Forever the Sickest Kids have a few good songs.

ya_ba 12-19-2008 10:53 AM

I like Hanson and I actually own a few CDs by them :P *blush*

MakeitLegit 12-19-2008 12:01 PM

I own Spice Girls' "Spice World". And I like it. I know. Kill myself.

gunnels 12-19-2008 12:10 PM

I was going to say I thought radiohead was boring, but a few minutes ago I heard "Paranoid Android", and now I'm starting to like them.

I really don't like, now matter how influential, any british invasion bands.

I listened to Katy Perry's album the whole way through when it came out?

I hated it, but I still stuck through the whole miserable thing.

I don't know though. I've kind of buried all my musical secrets.

Yeah, on the radio they play Hot n Cold all day long, lol, I've come to the point where I can sing along to it *shudders*

(I can only listen to radio in my office, so I really don't have much choice..)

Guybrush 12-20-2008 05:14 AM

^Yeah yeah, you guys love it .. just admit it.

FaSho 12-20-2008 06:17 AM

I love Katy Perry's album.

Raust 12-20-2008 10:08 AM
