Except they kind of were, but not really. The 'group' started as a one-shot for some Desert Sessions recordings, same musical style but they used growly DM vocals.



One of the workers in the studio gave them the name as a reaction to the juxtaposition of the styles, as far as death metal was concerned they were like The Eagles. I figure the band name was finalized in the laughter that followed.

Exactly. Singles band. And singles are what matter to me. Also, I relate more to Weiland's lyrics than Vedder's.

Pearl Jam's One album is excellent, but the older I've got, the more I hate Eddie's voice. I voted STP strictly because they have a few songs that I don't get tired of.
