I thought it was pretty good and thought it was great that they made an album in a new direction.

Yeah it's their second best album IMO. Ara Batur is really beautiful.

It was in a new direction, but it completely lacked the substance of Agaetis or (). It was worth a listen or two, and had some nice tracks, but it was a complete departure away from the things that make Sigur Ros great. The new album due out next year is supposed to be a return to form though, according to the band.

I was undecided there for a while, mainly because I've never been that big into 'em. I went back and listened to a few tracks and I can see why I never had the urge to pursue them further. Not really doing much for me I'm afraid.

Are you kidding?

That would mean having to listen to them again.

To be honest I can't give you exact times & dates here it's just a feeling i've had listening to their stuff as a whole.

I think them continuing to try in re encapsulate what Agaetis had would bring them to start making boring albums. Like Oasis in a way they'd become predictable. That's why I think it was a smart thing for them to try to move into a pop-ish direction.

I don't understand how The Monks didn't get in. I haven't met one person IRL who actually took to the time to get into their music and didn't like it.

Ditto

On that note I've never met anyone in RL who's heard of Sigur Ross. Including myself..

I listened to one album and gotta say that although I can't get into it, I can see why you all could. I guess I'm not voting then.
