Yes, Ode To Joy brings back memories of learning to play recorder in elementary school. The Glenn Gould edition is really great the whole way through.

Beethoven definitely deserves this! He was completely deaf by the time he composed most of his well-known pieces! Imagine, composing an entire symphony and not ever being able to hear it.

The fact that someone thinks that they need to nominate the most well known classical composer to stand any chance of getting into this thing just goes to show this thing need to be killed off & re-thought.

Although I am not a big fan of his music, I hav to say Yes. There really isn't a real reason that you can say no. The guy was a genious.
