A big yes for me.

Pet Sounds is just an amazing album, it almost makes up for the fact that Kokomo is like the worst song ever made.

Today! is also a brilliant album, and they had a number of strong albums and singles. SMiLE was also brilliant and, while it wasn't released as an album, most of it has been released as part of other albums.

The Beach Boys released a ton of great music. Pet Sounds is just the most obvious jewel.

They're not getting in, they're getting through, this conversation might sway some people, I for instance was going to vote yes, but no am even more undecided because I can't see myself putting them into the HOF in the next round.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

Pet Sounds didn't make much of an impression on me when I listened to it years ago... I think this nomination warrants another spin.

All the people voting yay or nay on the sole basis of Pet Sounds do not know enough about this group to vote in this thread.

Pet Sounds is without a doubt their best album, they've released other great ones but nothing that came close to touching it (not even Brian Wilson's Smile.) It's perfectly acceptable to vote having only heard Pet Sounds.

What if we listened to it and we think it's a piece of shit? I don't understand why we have to listen to the Beach Boys' discography if we realize that their best album is a pile of crap.

I agree, especially if you're heard their "big" singles as well as Pet Sounds and think that they're also a load of junk, especially the ridiculously cheesy Good Vibrations.

Good Vibrations wasn't on Pet Sounds, but I agree, far from their best song. I voted yes, and I've heard enough other than Pet Sounds for me to make a judgement call.
