Because of the internet people are more capable of listening to music that's not associated with RIAA. That surely puts a big dent in their numbers. It's portrayed that we're a bunch of greedy people who are letting musicians starve. I spend a lot of money on music and I'm not ashamed of downloading.

Artists make the majority of money on other aspects of music, touring etc, than on their releases. RIAA make more on their releases so its BS when companies like that claim they do it for the artist.

I never use P2P because of security risks, mis-tagged mp3s and the simple fact that I download albums now, as opposed to single tracks.

Torrents are P2P and they're pretty useful to download discographies...

What do you normally use to download albums? I used Bitlord for awhile, but I found that the quality of the songs was pretty poor at times. I suppose you'll find that anywhere, but still..........

Well, its better then getting sued...

I'm hoping that I don't get an email, but I doubt they would really care as I don't upload tons and tons of music to the masses, and I don't download music that often. If I have the money, I"ll buy the album, but when I don't, I'll just download the album. If the artist isn't well known and needs the cash, I'll make sure to get an album or 2 from them. But if its a band that is really well known and makes plenty of money, such as coldplay (why I would be downloading coldplay is beyond me, but this is just an example), I have no problem with getting their music for free. They already get plenty of money from live performances, constant radio play and plus there are still many people who buy their albums.

I think its a good idea, its better then sueing people and all that jazz.
