List of changes:

I forgot Jimi Hendrix existed when I made the first list so At The Drive in gets bumped down and knocks Beggars Banquet out.

As much as I love Stolas... Pallbearer made quite the impression on me. So I knocked off Stolas and Kasabian to make room for two fantastic albums by Pallbearer.

I listened to White Pony again and it didn't do much for me so Fleetwood Mac is getting that spot now.

I couldn't keep Linkin Park on there after the travesty that is their new material. So Black Sabbath takes that spot.

Led Zeppelin 1 is the blank spot... Don't know why that is blank. Too lazy to fix it right now though.

Blink 182 gets dropped for Dire Straits. Its just a better album overall.

Gorillaz gets bumped for QOTSA because my Homme boner is too strong.

Countdown to extinction gets exchanged for Killing is My Business... Because of Batty telling me not to give up on early Megadeth. Sorry I ever doubted...

Protest the Hero take Weezer's White Album and Cake's Fashion Nugget because those albums have lost a lot of the luster from earlier listens.

Entombed takes lighting bolt off the list... Cormorant takes coldplay off... Beastie Boys knock the **** out of interpol so.... And Remedy Lane knocks out Avenged Sevenfold because I am stupid for putting them on there in the first place...

Oh and Gloryhammer gets edged out by Agalloch's Ashes Against the Grain
Pretty good list. Don't know how you could have linkin park on any list ever but they got a couple of good songs.

I feels songs for the deaf is better then Rated R personally but they're both great albums.

I might listen to Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs out of curiosity.

No, I get what you mean completely. You are right on the money. All of these albums are either what I consider to be the "best" the genre has to offer or they cross into more interesting territory than just "soft" rock. For instance-

Young Gun Silver Fox - Motown R&B, soul / funk, plus soft rock and a bit of acid rock. West End Coast covers a wide spectrum of 70's California in general. It was also the #1 pop album of the year for 2016 over at PopMatters.com

Ole Borud - style falls into a mix between Westcoast rock, classic Stevie Wonder and the stuff that Justin Timberlake was doing on The 20/20 Experience. Dude has a miraculous voice.

Geyster - basically a Todd Rundgren-esque producer/singer/songwriter from France who does synthwave mixed with soft rock. He sings in English though and it works especially well on the album I listed.

Tim Cashion - former keyboardist for Grand Funk Railroad. Find Us On The Dial sounds a bit like Beach Boys circa 1970 mixed with Steely Dan at times. Great singer and guitarist too.

I could go on awhile, but the general idea is that my list includes albums that even a genre enthusiast would miss but have great crossover power. Enjoy.

I got bored and did a Top 100. I don't know how some of you listed the albums on the side.

The Modest Mouse album makes me think of the summer of 2006 and the deftones album the fall of 2007. Those were big years for me.

You were a toddler.
