This from someone who has yet to review a single album.
How are those exams going, Frown? Do be sure to let me know when you can sort out those reviews that are pending....

TFW you realize that the quote at the bottom of TH's sig may be a Wadsworth quote, but really he's just quoting Hawkwind.

If people are writing reviews for what they listened to, count me out. I missed that requirement. I don't want it to seem like a job (that I'm not getting paid for).

Now you see the Devil's bargain that you make when participating in a Trollheart thread.

One of my close friends from elementary school was a diehard ICP fan, so I've heard my fair share of the group. Maybe I can end up enjoying this album for the sake of nostalgia.

1. Intro - Well, I guess the redneck's music box done broke and it was possessed by a hype man who introduces The Great Milenko.
2. Great Milenko - The beat is some standard horrorcore stuff. It's not particularly bad, but it just sits there without being compelling. The emcees, while they rely on extremely lazy rhymes, at least have a little variety in their vocal styles.
3. Hokus Pokus - Carried on with the last track, but this time the beat lingers for four minutes and gets pretty annoying by the end.
4. Piggie Pie - Starts off with a sound clip from the pig ****ing scene in Calvaire, or so I assume. Then we get one of them shouting us into the song in a high pitched voice. A little more guitar based in this beat, just more of the same as before: the beats are not particularly offensive, but they don't have many redeeming qualities. Jesus, the flow on this one is atrocious. I'd talk about the lyrics a little bit, but with lines like
"The first little piggy, his house is made of wood
He lives in a chicken turkey piggy neighborhood
He likes to **** his sister, and drink his moonshine",
I don't think I can give it credit with analysis. There are just too many layers, it's so deep. Ends with a little skit with a suicidal guy getting taunted.
5. How Many Times? - That hook is pretty ****ing hilarious tbh, the white dudes pretending to have some accent from who the **** knows where is adorable. If this was on in the background at a party, I'd probably not notice it. Flat beat, angry delivery with lazy lyrics (rhyme look with book, wow). The only torturous thing about this record so far is that what could easily be 2 minute tracks are stretched out to 6 minutes. Ends with a little changeup, and oh! His mom is calling him in! Oh you guys, that's hilarious.
6. Southwest Voodoo - At least they started this one off with some different sounds before falling back into the same old ****. One of these guys sound like Adam Yauch's retarded cousin. I'm not even listening to the lyrics at this point unless one of them sticks out to me. **** that hook sucks, probably the first to fall under the tortury side of things. A little skit at the end about some circus, whatever.
7. Halls of Illusion - Apparently Slash is on this one, that's not a very good sign. Are these guys unsuccessfully trying to be scary or are they self parody? It's hard to tell, they're pretty convincing. More flat beats with a four chord guitar riff. Did they really need Slash for that? They could have asked the 10 year old across the street to play it for them. Oh wait, we have some pitch bends--only Slash is capable of this (for Trollheart's sake, I'd like to point out that I'm not serious here). Meh.
8. Under the Moon - Giggling fat dudes kick off the track before we get more of the same. This album is in desperate need of variety. Same type of weak beat, very similar one the nose flow, boring hook. This choice would have worked better in the boredom chamber. Are they saying **** the moon? I agree, gentlemen.
9. What Is a Juggalo? - Apparently juggalos are nudist badasses because they like, smoke weed in public and ****. They're so unique they're like dead people, too. Some gassy beatboxing and we're done.
10. House of Horrors - Starts off with a little skit for a house of horrors that leads into yet another uninspired beat. The mouth sounds are a nice touch. These guys are a lot more interesting when they're not forming words. This one is full of stupid and unnecessary interludes. FFS dude let's get this over with.
11. Boogie Woogie Woo - Some female vocals here, I'll assume they're sampled for obvious reasons. Really nothing else to say that hasn't been said above. "Wash your feet, bitch" is a quality line though.
12. The Neden Game - Starts with a skit with a matchmaker thing with the emcees. The guy is so badass that he's willing to show his date's family his tic tac dick and yell at her mother. Oh, I guess he's in his underwear now? Wow all of these guys are psychopaths and schizophrenics, that's so awesome! Because they're like all crazy and **** or something. At least this song has an interesting enough format to stick out from the other ones, with the girls asking questions and the emcees responding with a verse.
13. Hellalujah - Haha! Get it? HELLalujah? Hahahahahahahaha! It's usually HALLelujah! Oh man, these guys are some of the funnier rappers on the planet. Starts off with unrelated soundbites before leading into a preacher, because of the Hallelujah theme. Oh the preacher is asking for money, that's deep man.
14. Down With the Clown - A better title for this track might be "Only Three Tracks Left." A rednecky skit begins things. Then some more of the weak beats. Waiting for the end, really. The suicidal guy is back. Now he's gone.
15. Just Like That - More of the same, at least this one's less than two minutes long as opposed to the 4+ minute standard that this album sets up.
16. Pass Me By - Well, this hook is a little different, more melodic. The beat's a little funkier than the other ones. I got what I wished for with them changing things up slightly, for better with the beat but for worse with the hook. "We all gon' die" is some of the most profound **** I've ever heard. At least I didn't have to sit through a little skit at the end.

Well, too bad I didn't have any flashbacks to being in my friend's house while his mom smoked meth on the back porch, those were some good times. The only torturous bit about this is the monotony. Mother****ers rework the same type of beat, stick to four or five different rhyming rhythms, and try to be all spooky or whatever. I guess you failed, but towards the end I will admit it was a little trying.

Torture Rating: I'll give it a 25%.
I'm not sure if I still want to participate if you're going to continue making this thread like a homework assignment. It drains the fun out of it, and I don't come to this forum to do a half hearted reviews to prove that I listened to some albums.

Yeah, the whole rating system and time limit kind of kills the fun. I suggest you (TH) just let anarchy reign, cause your system isn't really encouraging anyone to review anyway.

Yeah, we know from your and Frownland's rec & review threads how well you keep at it without reminders.

Don't be so silly. It's nothing like homework. You would KNOW if it was homework, let me tell you! I told everyone nobody needed to review as such, but ffs you need to prove you listened to the album, otherwise where's the point? Ten hours of John Zorn: yeah I listened to it. Prove it. Um....

Your choice, but there's no point in just saying you listened to it. As above.

Nah, just for you and some others. Other people have posted with no problem. I'm not gonna change the system just because you two clowns don't like it. You're free not to participate, but if you decide to, you have to be at least somewhat committed. I can't have albums here for a month not done, while others are firing off reviews and impressions left, right and centre. Wouldn't be fair.

Anyway, it doesn't in the least surprise me. You two always have a problem with any sort of system I set up, so I expected this. I don't really care if it dies. It's taking a lot of my time. So if nobody's interested then let me know and I can shut this down, but I think some members are genuinely enjoying it. I'm not however going to let this slip off to page two or three while supposedly active and then be bumped every few weeks, to slide back down again. If it's to be kept current then the time limits (which are not excessive: one album per week?) need to be respected and stuck to.
