Yeah, I think that will be most people's problem with it, that it's boring. And it can be. Sometimes it depends on your mood, sometimes it's just someone who doesn't realise they have to do more than put chords together with some wind effects and maybe speech loops to make it interesting, but there's a whole hell of a lot of really decent, and some excellent, music out there. I would imagine a large percentage of people, if they listen to it at all, listen to ambient music as background music, which is why often a lot of the really cool stuff might pass them by.

I imagine there's a limited amount of people who'd get much out of actively listening to ambient but just about anyone can enjoy it in some way. It's the perfect genre of music for non-fans since you don't even have to listen to it to get something out of it.
