because if it's what the sound is, than you're probably wrong. But if it's what the band is than you are incredibly elitist. and that is not a good thing.
i sort of agree with expletive in saying it defies logic to a call a band "indie" when their on a commercially overt record label with a big funding. tis kind of a contradiction

back to topic, conversely you have the domino label (traditionally an indie label) now harnessing bands such as franz ferdi***, arctic monkeys and test icicles - all three of which have gained too much attention from the media to surely be referred to as an "indie" bands now. so would you say all bands on indie labels are indie?

Thats because at least with Franz Ferdinand anyway they`re only signed to Domino in europe, in the rest of the world they`re signed to Sony.

No. labels like Victory Records are a good example. They are traditionally a hardcore label, but they have bands like Hawthorne Heights and Aiden signed to them. Trustkill as well. Traditionally hardcore, but now has bands like Hopesfall and Open Hand on the label.

And I do agree with you in a way Ledzep, that the term "indie" seems odd when applied to a major label band, but can't they jump to a major label while retaining their signature sound?

Default Need band reccomondations

I need some help finding some new bands, I've kinda heard everything from the bands I like the most and need something new that's similar to the bands I like, wich are: Radiohead, Muse, The Mars Volta, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Mew, Soulwax, Sonic Youth, Pixies, At The Drive-In, Velvet Underground, Neil Young.

Or just some good band recommondations.

Thanks for for any kind of help.
