Interpol & Hot Hot Heat

Could u recommend me some songs of Interpol and Hot Hot Heat?
Yeah, I think "Everyday I Love You Less And Less" is cool, but sometimes u just have to chose between & my fav is "I Predict A Riot".
Sad, I bet it's a cool pic! And tell me: Do ya brag a bit of it? Like "Oh, look! That's me and Matt Tong of Bloc Party! Isn't he cute?" Hehe...
What do ya think bout The Smiths? I like "This Charming Man" and "What Difference Would It Make" most. And I love Morrissey ("First Of The Gang To Die")! And I'm really annoyed, that they abused "How Soon Is Now" for this stupid "Charmed"-Intro, a lausy coverversion...

Sometimes I ask myself, what's wrong wit the world!!!

Imonlydancing 05-21-2005 08:46 AM

interpol - 'slow hands' and 'c'mere'
hot hot heat - anything off 'make up the breakdown' really. but the new song 'goodnight goodnight' is pretty good.
the smiths are good, i have a 'the queen is dead' tshirt....my fav smiths song is 'there is a light that never goes out' but morrisey annoys me, i like his music though. lol i dont brag about it lol, its too dark really.

Josephine 05-21-2005 11:21 AM

Hot Hot Heat's C.O.O.L.

Just wanted to say that I got "Make Up The Breakdown", it's a great LP!
I like it, especially "This Town", "Aveda" & "No, Not Now". And "Goodnight Goodnight" is cool as well.
I although listened to Interpol, my fav is "Slow Hands", but "Obstacle 1" is a good song, too.
Yeeeeaaah, "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out": Cause it's boring always to repeat "Good Song, nice song, beautiful song, unique song...", I won't say so this time. No need to say anyway, I guess.
Haha, but you would brag bout if anybody was able to recognize the Matt-alike on ya pic!!! I think I would do so, too... ;)
Hmmm, I know what ya mean bout Morrissey, but as long as his music is good...Who cares? And it's all bout the music.
I hate people who like bands cause of their looks or their style or their image of whatever that sucks!!!
Thanx for ya advice. It's always nice to meet people who know what's real (u proved taste again!)...

used to have a chilling sound? we're not talking about a band thats spanned decades with numerous albums here. personally i think razorlight's sound is completely the opposite to being chilled out but there you go. and elevators is a lot better then make up the breakdown in my opinion. while mutb had a few standout tracks, elevator is a lot more consistent in terms of quality.

Imonlydancing 05-21-2005 11:50 AM

hehe, thanks Josephine.
yeah, i agree about the its all about the music thing...shame sometimes people feel its not.

Josephine 05-21-2005 12:19 PM

U don't need to like'em!

Yeah, maybe the expression "used" wasn't well chosen in this case, but I can CHILL very good listening to Razorlight! Well anyway, u don't need to like them, as long as u see that Coldplay's great (at least u see).
And as I already posted in the Hot Hot Heat Thread, I dunno much bout "Elevator" yet, but "Goodnight Goodnight" sounds promising.

Josephine 05-22-2005 05:42 AM

Joy Division & Bloc Party???

I asked that before (but I got no answer):
Do u also see the parallels between Bloc Party and Joy Division?
I mean, cause of that dark smoothin' vibe?

Sneer 05-22-2005 06:02 AM

not really. i see bloc party as more similiar to bands like gang of four etc. if you want a band that sounds exactly like joy division you cant lose with interpol. evil, NYC, obstacle 1, narc, slow hands etc all very good songs and all very division-esque. paul banks voice is errily like ian curtis'.

Josephine 05-22-2005 08:22 AM

Test Transmission

I dunno...

Yeah, you're right with Interpol (& good songs indeed), but I read an interview wit Kele and Matt where excactly that was said (I thought bout this parallel actually before I read the article).
I mean songs like "Test Transmission"?
But I did't want to say that they sound the same...

But U don't seem to know what's real mentioning Mando Diao in such a negative way... :)
So c'mon, tell me: What do ya like? Another great band like HOT HOT HEAT?

And by the way: "I Predict A Riot" is a cool song indeed!

ok maybe i'm not the best person to advise you on great bands and music because i absolutley love the bravery, and by saying that if you liked oh my god you would like the rest i meant that the other songs on the album are similar to it, and less similar to i predict a riot unfortunatley...

adidasss 05-22-2005 09:44 AM

btw, i see that you do appreciate SOME good music, so i don't know if you've heard of the kings of leon, i love them...

I like Kings of Leon, too...
Unfortunately I won't have a possibility to see'em live for the next time...
Hey, I didn't mean to say that I hate The Bravery, maybe I should try to get their album...

Matt Tong YEAH!

I just wanted to say that I'm listening to "Banquet" again...
And I have to repeat: Matt Tong's my hero! I'm impressed totally...

you should...i found out about them through nme.com (since i can't get the paper here, i'm stuck with the web page), the title was "new york party monsters", and it also said this could be the album of the year...i couldn't help but to check it out, so i downloaded honest mistake, thought their sound was very fresh and good, downloaded the entire album...haven't regereted it a bit...one of the best finds this year...

Josephine 05-22-2005 01:20 PM

On tour with Mando Diao...

Well, they're on tour now in the UK - with Mando Diao! So they couldn't be that bad...
"Which is the best album in the 2000-decade? Mando Diao´s "Bring'em In". It is the real deal. We often listen to it before going on stage."
That's what The Bravery said in an interview with the Swedish magazine "Veckans Vimmel".
It makes me like them indeed!!!

Sneer 05-22-2005 02:44 PM

i strongly urge you steer clear of the bravery. you may never be the same again after witnessing that quiffed buffoon warble on about his mistakes.

Imonlydancing 05-22-2005 02:57 PM

yeah indeed, i dont like the way they are being compared with the killers...but in the end i spose they are both indie pop....

adidasss 05-22-2005 03:14 PM

and both great bands

Imonlydancing 05-23-2005 10:56 AM

Yeah, well, i'm not all that keen on the bravery, they are quite catchy though. Indeed i rather like The killers.

Josephine 05-23-2005 11:54 AM

Brandon Flowers...

I still dunno much bout The Bravery (except they like my fav Swedish Band, what's good indeed!), but I like the Killers, too.

"Mr. Brightside" is a cool single and I like "Desperate"...

And Imonlydancing: Well, you met the Matt-Double and I got to know a guy who looked exactly like Brandon Flowers! I was totally fascinated...that was just last weekend! Unfortunately I couldn't take a pic :)

jamisonparker 05-24-2005 10:16 AM

bloc party is gooood

Josephine 05-24-2005 11:00 AM

You're damn right, they're good...

Josephine 05-24-2005 01:59 PM

Well, it is a b-side track and it's very good... But I still dunno on which single. I just found it in the internet, but it's definitly by The Killers.

Josephine 05-24-2005 02:05 PM

The Lyrics

And these are the lyrics of "Desperate" by The Killers:

Send me away
I'm here on my own
Hammer, stutter now
Lets rock, lets roll now

She says I'm obsessed
I say I'm in love
Hold Me
You've done it now
Now send me way out
I feel insecure
And desperate
But not right now
I feel it now
And you don't see
The way I see
I've got it now
I'm desperate

Desperate
Desperate

I'm better off like this
I'm better off
I'm better off like this

Don't you know I care
No, no

Desperate
Desperate
Desperate
Desperate

I'm better off like this
I'm better off
I'm better off like this
Don't you know I care
No, no

I wish I was myself
Again
I wish I was myself
Again.

You might know the song now...

adidasss 05-24-2005 04:23 PM

nope, never heard it..the only song i heard from the killers that's not on the album is who let you go...

Josephine 05-25-2005 12:46 PM

Cool song...

You should hear it... The song's quite good. I like it very much.

PS: Hey, u got a new avatar! Really varied...;)

Sammy 05-25-2005 01:08 PM

i think bloc party are amazing and their albumn is easily one of the best released at the moment but they have so many new bands to contend with at the moment, and however good they may be at the moment its wrong to give them such abig title and to compare them against the likes of bands that have been round for a number of years! But i wish them all the best-

Sneer 05-26-2005 11:06 AM

Josephine 05-26-2005 11:08 AM

Josephine 05-26-2005 01:05 PM
