Default My Political Rant (please read)

I was watching The Glenn Beck Show today on CNN (I know what you're thinking I believe Glenn Beck WTF?) and he was talking about how we can't leave Iraq now. If we do Iran will basically take control of it. This I truely believe if we get a stable government in Iraq that's one more ally for us in the Middle East and one less place for Iran to take control over so IMO it's a win win situation we win Iran loses. Anyone else agree?

I'd rather see Iran take control of Iraq than the U.S. take control of Iraq.

I think there should of been a better escape plan in the first place. But for now it would be better to have Iraq under military control than to allow Iran to take them over.

You call that a rant?

And how is leaving thousands of troops stationed in a country that isn't making any sort of progress so that they can get killed by the occasional suicide bomber a win situation?

How about letting the people from Iraq have a say in this? Isn't democracy and freedom important for America? Why should they then decide against their own policies, that Iraq should live with their policies?

Though, if I were from Iraq I'd prefer being under American rule...

US will always have a hand in iraq. and with iraqs location near iran, and iran's refusal to stop uranium enrichment, it will be a cold day in hell when the US gives up its only stake in the middle east.

Because god forbid that Iran should have (relatively) environment friendly electric power! I mean, America should have it because they're such sane chaps. They'd never use nukes (apart from against Japan, and really who cares), they'd never fund or stock people who employ terror tactics (apart from Saddam, but hell you just blitzed his country to prove that he no longer had the weapons you sold him years back so I guess it's kinda balanced out. So what if the civvies can't get to hospital, or drink from their taps) and they'd never invade another country (apart from Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq ... twice ...). Compared to the dirty dirty international actions on the part of Iran, who are CONSTANTLY invading other countries and fingering the launch button for those abundant nuclear weapons.

You will excuse me for saying so, but if I we're not ok with Iran having nuclear power, why the hell do we let America stock nukes? Who are we to say that Iran must use coal power (and chuck out ton after ton of CO2) if they want to boil a kettle?
