ETHAN. With regards to mr blogclaus I think the argument winner here is simply to point out that blogclaus clearly spent the WHOLE DAY ON THE INTERNET.

ON A SATURDAY. Look at his post times. All saturday online. He wasn't being sarcastic, he's actually a genuine loser. He keeps coming back to respond to people about his original post, despite the fact that he didn't have anything genuinely useful to say in the first place.

I repeat, on a SATURDAY he spend the whole day online. And he's 20 YEARS OLD (I don't know, that's important somehow). While I was sleeping, then on the phone, then at the gym, then talking to a hot chinese girl, then at the pub, then in the supermarket... he was on the internet. Probably the whole time.

Seriously, pointing out that somebody has the most pointless life ever is a valid argument against their assessment of other people's lives. I would do it myself but I can't remember my LastFm details.

that was all complete bullshit & really dumb on the networks part to air all that
obviously if this guy got his idea from columbine, some other deeply disturbed person is gonna see those lovely videos & photos & hear about what he did & think "what a great idea!"
i just think people are focussing too much on giving this guy publicity instead of focussing on the 32 people who this maniac murdered

I personally agree with everything you just said, but sadly I find what you said unrealistic as well (except the part about King, his article was pretty sweet). I think a good 90% of the population realizes that Cho was an insane physcokiller who deserves death and shouldn't have his message spread. But people's curiosity is too strong, and the news is too desperate for ratings. The incident was terrible, but it's going to happen again no matter what legislation is put in place or how the media portrays Cho. In my opinion we should just refer to Cho as an "it" or "killer" and not dignify him with a name, but society will just not accept that as a feasible way of dealing with this situation.

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

in my opinion, i think people classifying him as clinically insane is a crock of bull
im no psychologist, but i highly doubt someone whos completely bonkers could maticulously plan something like this, especially considering he bought the guns several months in advance & obviously had the time to record himself on video & take such lovely pictures of himself & send them to nbc in between shootings
obviously this guys tree didnt go to the top branch, but i think people are giving him a break & a half calling him insane
he was just a pissed off kid who got picked on one too many times
& apparently in one of his videos he referred to the kids at v-tech being "spoiled brats" with fancy cars & money & drugs & all that
& the reason he had righteous indignation about that would be because his poor sister couldnt afford to get into harvard so she had to "settle" for princeton
whatever man, this countrys attention span for news is about 5 seconds
last week its don imus, this week is this guy, next week itll be something else

Inase and mentally ill are very different issues. Your right that an insane person couldn't plan this, but a mentally ill person in a maniac condition easily could. They are often extremely intelligent and calm, but when their illness is triggered they are prone to sadistic outbreaks were destroying what is bothering you makes perfect since.

Mania allows logic to be twisted and distorted like his obviously was, he really did believe that he was right in his vengeance of rich kids. However he should know how to control the mania by now and not feed into the voices in his head that convinced him he was in the "right."

I don't think this will drift away quickly, this is one of those events that go in your history book.
