late. 9pm i think? i would never get to watch it on school nights but during breaks, especially summer, my dad would let me stay up and watch it and he would watch it with me. but like i said, never lasted past 9:30-10.

Shower. Bath when I want to relax and listen to dream pop music. That's rare though.
Damn it, now I have this weird image of blank in a bubble bath with a glass of white wine listening to Cocteau Twins and I think it just ruined Cocteau Twins.

1. What's your favourite animal (pet or otherwise)?

Dog, they are my spirit animal

2. Of preference, shower or bath?

Shower by far. I can't even remember the last time I had an actual bath.

3. What's the first TV show you really started to follow religiously?

Probably The Simpsons because it was something my dad would tape, and bring the tapes to work so I could watch them after school while I was waiting for him to get off work. I'm pretty sure most of the episodes were from season's 2-5

4. What operating system does your computer use, and is there a reason for that?

Windows 10... it was a free upgrade and I like to be on the cutting edge.

5. Name one good deed (big or small) that you performed in the last year

I picked up a friend from the airport on Thursday... although I really only did it because I wanted to borrow their CostCo card so I could get cheaper gas.

6. What is one piece of technology you cannot now see yourself ever living without?

Alright maybe the first show I ever watched religiously was The Simpsons too. I just take if for granted but everyone on earth watched The Simpsons in the 90s.

Oh **** maybe it was Married with Children. Honestly it was either Married with Children or The Simpsons guaranteed.

I guess. I'm just thinking long term and would rather have my smartphone for online access than to just be stuck with Starcraft and no wifi or anything else. In my mind the question was like whatever I pick everything is going away.

I didn't watch The Simpsons in the 90s. Maybe just the treehouse episodes but The Simpsons weren't interesting to me until I was older.

Reminds me of that scene in South Park when Kyle gives the homeless guy the money he's been saving for an XBox or Playstation - twenty dollars - and the guy just says "Got any more?"
Mint and Ubuntu are the two major distributions for Linux and they are incredibly easy to use.

Thanks Pete. I may look into that.
What are, if you have the time, the main advantages in using Linux, and is it hard to get out of Windows habits?

The main advantages of using Linux come more from being able to go hard into customization, so it really is an excellent kernal for computer enthusiasts. That being said, there are some really great uses for an every day user. The main major perk is that it's free, you can't beat that. It generally will never get computer viruses, so you don't really have to worry about that. Other than that though... I generally think of it as more of a hobbiest thing. It can be fun though, and you will likely learn a lot more about how PC's work.

A nice thing about Linux is that you can try out different distros without installing them. I upgraded to Windows 10 and hated it. Now I use Linux as my main OS.

I run Linux and Windows servers at work. CentOS 7 / 2012R2 specifically. I gotta say that Linux is the most reliable.

I run java and php web apps on top of those Linux boxes and the only thing you have to watch out for are vulns in applications. *cough*apache struts, Equifax, etc.*cough*

Can't say that I'd have much use for Linux on the client side, but as far as operating system stability is concerned, Linux is the way to go if all you're doing is general computering and internetting.

For those of us like myself that use apps only available on M$ Windows, I still rock 7 at home, but 10 is pretty decent. My helpdesk guys switched the company over to it last year and it's growing on me.
