I watch much French TV, and I can assure you they idolize Americans.

FETCHER. 12-20-2009 02:50 PM

doesn't the whole word English give it away for them that it isnt?

NumberNineDream 12-20-2009 02:53 PM

bah no ... but for French, it is "the one". Or am I the only one that noticed that the US is the biggest imperialist country ?

1. What is the funniest post you have ever read on the forums? Please include a link if you can.
I usually forget all the funny posts i read. But here's one from not so long ago that made me lol

Thank God for booze, narcotics, and garage bands,
because that's all we've got left.

2. What is your favorite forum drama that has occurred? Again, include a link if you can.
Probably some stupid thread posted by coryallen that resulted in rape. There were a few of them.

3. Who do you consider the most legendary forum member? No self-nominations allowed.
Ethan. We all miss him, i wanna insult him over Bright Eyes again to get his smart reaction

4. On a scale of 0-10, how much do you think drugs have benefited the world of music, and why?
About 4. A lot of music can be traced back to or inspired by drug use but most music comes direct from the heart.

5. What do you think is the most important subject to study in college, and why?
English. If we didnt spk ppr eng wer all screwd rite?

6. How long has it been since you last masturbated?
A few days ago.

Honestly, I don't now what you are going on about. I'm talking about languages and the relationship between elitist and common people. English words slip into the French language through average French people, but it is the L'Académie française that frowns upon English borrowed words & phrase and make sure they are not used in the media - it has nothing to do with America.

What I wanted to say was 'imho the French elitist are jealous of the English language, which 40% of its vocabulary is French.' The comment was to transcend the two languages mentioned and meant to reveal the irony of how some people, regardless how much they have in common, are exclusive to other people.

NumberNineDream 12-20-2009 03:56 PM

I did say the others. When you forbid the use of English words, that will have an effect on others obviously.

Well I was just throwing a brief idea, and I don't really have the energy to explain it, especially that it would need a Vegangelica reply. So let's forget the whole thing.

music_phantom13 12-20-2009 05:37 PM

I'll try it (but it sucks, no offense noob).

1. What is the funniest post you have ever read on the forums? Please include a link if you can.

Probably the one of that delusional Christian musician who thought he was going to be an actual rock god, I don't remember where and what it was.

2. What is your favorite forum drama that has occurred? Again, include a link if you can.

No clue, sorry. It woulda been cool to be here when Boo went on a massive banning spree but sadly I wasn't around then.

3. Who do you consider the most legendary forum member? No self-nominations allowed.

4. On a scale of 0-10, how much do you think drugs have benefited the world of music, and why?

5, because I like trance, psychedelic, crazy rap, and stuff like that, which probably wouldn't be around as much if not for drugs. But really, I don't think anyone needs drugs to make amazing music.

5. What do you think is the most important subject to study in college, and why?

I don't think anything in particular... whatever you want to study is most important for you. You go to college to learn about what you want to learn about, not to get a general education. That's what grade/primary school is for.

6. How long has it been since you last masturbated?[/QUOTE]

Hmm a few days?

I'm just an average Joe, and I like the rest of the world to think of Americans as average people just like themselves, there is too much pressure being a superhero, too many arch-enemies.

I dunno what there TV is like, but I can assure you they do not idolize Americans. Everyone I know that has taken a trip to France talks about how much the people there hate us because we're ignorant dumbasses that just assume they speak English. I don't know, I could be wrong, but that's what tends to be the general opinion round here.

NumberNineDream 12-20-2009 06:45 PM

Ronnie Jane Devo 12-20-2009 11:12 PM

Wow, I think savannah's been proven wrong about five times over now.

By the way, in case any of you didn't pick up on it, a few of the questions were designed mainly to let people educate me (and other noobs) on some of the more interesting things that have happened on the forums. I don't think that makes my questions shitty if that's what you guys are complaining about, but I did ask right-track if he thought I should change any when I submitted them to him and he told me they were great questions.

Harry 12-20-2009 11:41 PM

Well, I'm brand new here, but I guess I'll give it a go.

1. What is the funniest post you have ever read on the forums? Please include a link if you can.
Haven't read any funny posts... I'm a noob.

2. What is your favorite forum drama that has occurred? Again, include a link if you can.
Not yet, but I suppose there's drama everywhere..

3. Who do you consider the most legendary forum member? No self-nominations allowed.
Well... I'm the only legend I know so far, I'll leave out this one

4. On a scale of 0-10, how much do you think drugs have benefited the world of music, and why?
5... I mean, I've done my share and I feel it's inspired a lot of compositions, but also that I could do it without it. As well as artists like the Beatles, though I love their ****ed music, I think they'd have done it as well without drugs. And drugs ruined bands like the Libertines...

5. What do you think is the most important subject to study in college, and why?
I suppose you mean uni, in which case it's anything you want to learn. Importance is to the person.

6. How long has it been since you last masturbated?
I don't know. An hour?

Ronnie Jane Devo 12-21-2009 07:53 PM

I haven't answered my own questions yet, so I'll get on that now (skipping the first three since i r noob lol)

4. On a scale of 0-10, how much do you think drugs have benefited the world of music, and why?

Gotta be either 6 or 7, and I'm leaning toward 7. It's hard to think of a notable musician who hasn't done drugs, and when you think of some of the greatest artists ever like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Doors, Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc., it's clear that much of their most important material was heavily drug-influenced (or at least drug-inspired). There are also entire genres of music that practically revolve around drugs (trance, industrial, reggae, myriads of electronic music genres, etc.), so it would be hard to overstate the influence of drugs on the world of music imho.

5. What do you think is the most important subject to study in college, and why?

If there's one subject I think everyone could benefit vastly from it's philosophy. The ability to use reason, logic and critical thinking is in such dire shortage in the world, it's no wonder we put such terrible politicians in control of our governments. These obviously aren't skills that come naturally to people, but they are very important skills for everyone to have if democracy is to have any hope of success.

6. How long has it been since you last masturbated?

About 27 hours I believe. I had a pretty stressful day so I'm ready to go at it again pretty soon.

5. Stay inside with hot coco or build a snowman?
drink hot cocoa with a snowman.

6. Be honest now... don't you find the concept of Santa Claus a little creepy?
not really, but I wasn't raised with the typical jolly fat Santa. Our Santa was a young dude who made toys for just poor kids in Poland.

7. What is the best Xmas present you ever received?
I got a guitar when I was like 10 or 11, that's a good one.

The birth of Santa

2. Do you gain weight around this time of year?
I eat less actually.

4. Do you visit anywhere this time of year?
My parents do, so it does seem like a holiday away.

5. Stay inside with hot coco or build a snowman?
SNOWMAN!!

I don't think so... I don't really pay much attention to that to be honest.

3. What is your ideal holiday?
I've already experienced my ideal holiday, it was too New Zealand and it was amazing. But I guess I'd like to travel to Europe and live with and visit my family, that would be fun.

4. Do you visit anywhere this time of year?
Nope.

5. Stay inside with hot coco or build a snowman?
Neither because it's freakin' hot so I don't want a hot coco, and we don't have any snow and even if we did it would melt immediately in the stupid heat.

6. Be honest now... don't you find the concept of Santa Claus a little creepy?
Yes, in fact I was completely terrified of Santa for most of my childhood, until I discovered he wasn't real, and then I was equally as terrified of the concept.

7. What is the best Xmas present you ever received?
This year my parents and my sisters flew out to spend the summer here with me and my brother. Best present ever, I missed my sisters so much.

1. What Winter Holidays do you celebrate?
Christmas

2. Do you gain weight around this time of year?
yes

3. What is your ideal holiday?
As long I hear my favorite Christmas albums it doesn't matter what happens especially Elvis Presley, The Ventures, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The BEach Boys Christmas albums.

4. Do you visit anywhere this time of year?
sometimes, I visit relatives.

5. Stay inside with hot coco or build a snowman?
hot coco

6. Be honest now... don't you find the concept of Santa Claus a little creepy?

I don't know Santa Claus is the spokesman of Christmas, I don't know how other people feel about Christmas, to me it is a quaint time of year steeped in a long tradition. I remember I ask my friend who is a Yaweh Witness about Christmas and boy did he let me have it, how it was all base in pagan traditions etc, but I was only thinking about his experience during Christmas, it didn't matter if it was secular or religious, I was thinking more about Christmas as a cultural event. I've heard stories of how the American version of Santa Claus had a make-over from advertisement campaign by Coca-Cola in the 1930's. One interesting conspiracy theory put forth is that Santa Claus is Odin in disguise.
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/200...and20santa.jpg
So yeah Santa Claus creeps me out, because he doesn't take good care of animals, his one reindeer has Chronic Bioluminescent-Rhinitis and he's yet to take it to a veteranarian.

7. What is the best Xmas present you ever received?

Les Paul, Grady Martin, Hank Garland compilation.
