1. What record(s) were instrumental in changing your taste in music?

Metallica's Master of Puppets and Load and Reload were the first records I ever bought and definitely put me on the path I'd be on all throughout the last two decades of my life. After that Slayer's Reign in Blood, Megadeth's Killing Is My Business and Business Is Good, Iron Maiden's Powerslave, Saxon's Wheels of Steel, Bathory's self-titled debut, Exodus' Bonded by Blood, Morbid Angel's Altars of Madness, and Anthrax's Spreading the Disease were probably the biggest milestones in my early metal radicalization.

And as an honorable mention Van Halen's OU812 was the first album I ever really listened to and got into back when I was a wee lad and while I'm bemused by that now I'm sure it had an impact. Had to have.

2. Do you belief in the existent of intelligent life somewhere out in space?

I believe in it on an intellectual level but on a personal level it's too abstract a concept for me to really accept until I see them.

3. A genie comes out one of your vases, but informs you that you can make only one wish (and it can't be for more wishes or another genie) - what is your wish?

Do a Robert Williams impression.

4. You wake up and find yourself transported to the late Triassic period - what are the first steps you take?

Be excited while also kind of disappointed that I won't get to see all the coolest dinosaurs cause the late Triassic was like the prologue of the dinosaur age. I mean seeing a Coelophysis would be amazing but it would never be on my top 10 dinosaur list.

5. You have the opportunity to sit down and chat with three historical figures of your choosing for tea and cookies (or beer and pizza, your choice) - which three figures do you choose?

Hitler obviously, Stalin obviously, and throw in Alexander the Great just to see how he reacts to all of this.

6. A mystic on the street informs you with the utmost certainty that you are dying tomorrow at midnight - what do you do with your remaining time?

Posting about it on Music Banter.

Thanks, OH!

1. What record(s) were instrumental in changing your taste in music?

Massive Attack's 'Protection', David Holmes' 'Bow Down to the Exit Sign', Primal Scream's 'Screamadelica', The Fall's 'Perverted By Language', ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead's 'Source Tags & Codes', A Tribe Called Quest's 'Low End Theory', Cannibal Ox's 'The Cold Vein', Pulp's 'This is Hardcore', The Hot Boys' 'Guerilla Warfare', Beach House's 'Bloom', Manic Street Preachers' 'The Holy Bible', Redman's 'Dare Iz a Darkside', Arcade Fire's 'The Suburbs', Underworld's 'Second Toughest in the Infants', The Residents' 'Third Reich N' Roll', Bob Dylan's 'Desire', Mr. Bungle's 'Disco Volante', The Pop Group's 'Y', The Who's 'Live At Leeds', The Beastie Boys' 'Paul's Boutique', Liz Phair's 'Exile In Guyville', Wu Tang Clan's debut album, Gravediggaz '6 Feet Deep', The Chameleon's 'Script of the Bridge', Miles Davis' 'On the Corner', Megadeth's 'Rust In Peace', Cephas and Wiggins' 'Cool Down' - I'm sure there's more, but that's off the top of my head.

2. Do you belief in the existent of intelligent life somewhere out in space?

Yes, but only because I can't conceive of an end to the universe.

3. A genie comes out one of your vases, but informs you that you can make only one wish (and it can't be for more wishes or another genie) - what is your wish?

Four debates between Donald Trump and Joe Biden with a mandatory push-up contest after each one.

4. You wake up and find yourself transported to the late Triassic period - what are the first steps you take?

First, panic, then assess my immediate environment, try to find the closest shelter and see what kind of dangers lurk in the vicinity from the safety of shelter. Then, attempt to secure sustenance in the form of fruits.

5. You have the opportunity to sit down and chat with three historical figures of your choosing for tea and cookies (or beer and pizza, your choice) - which three figures do you choose?

Jesus Christ
Adolf Hitler
Abraham Lincoln

6. A mystic on the street informs you with the utmost certainty that you are dying tomorrow at midnight - what do you do with your remaining time?

Contact all friends and family and let them know I'm not long for the world, tell them how much I love them, and let them know what to expect from my will.

Why would you want your genie to do an impression of a Celtics basketball player?

Luckily there'll be a bunch of MB members around.

Great list, though I'm not a fan of all of them. The best of the listed is probably 'Bonded by Blood', but thrash metal was probably my introduction to metal as well. And I'm not ashamed to admit that for about 3 years of my teenage life, "Master of Puppets" was my all-time favorite song.

There's a serious lack of Overkill on your list - you were never able to cop 'Feel the Fire'? That's unfortunate.

I didn't get around to Overkill until a few years later. This was in the early 00s and you couldn't find much metal in the record stores yet and downloading was still in the caveman era. And I only had dial-up. I think I'd only heard a few Overkill songs from The Years of Decay at the early stages. I know I had "I Hate" on a thrash mixed CD I made at the time and it's still one of my favs.

Taking Over is a monster thrash record though.

Hell yeah it is. I don't how it came to be, but W.F.O. became my introduction to Overkill when I found it in a pawn shop. I don't even remember how I feel about it, it's been so long since I listened to it.

Why? You'll love it in Trumpistan. They'll probably repaint all the black trucks with Confederate flags.
