Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the ones you love, even if it does mean having to endure shitty club music, over-priced drinks, moronic women/men, and your own crippling desire to block all the exits and set fire to the place. Who knows, you may find your male counter-part there and it could lead to a passionate night of meaningless sex. That's what I always use to tell myself and look how I turned out.

If nothing else consider it a way of showing your friend that you care about their company and are willing to do things they want to do.

People who have a seriously out of touch and uninformed opinion on mental illness, alcoholism, addiction etc.

"no sympathy, people choose drink themselves into oblivion so they deserve what they get" < I have heard this regularly. Just heard it again today, there are some seriously thick ****s in the world.

My friends dad asked me if I smoked green last night and I was sitting with my box of tricks so I could hardly lie, plus I'm trying not to lie at all (but thats a long story). So I told him yes but he was ranting beforehand and said that his brother had never had a job since smoking cannabis. I knew he was wrong because I am more than willing to work and have done so for the past 5 years and now I'm attending college but I basically just agreed with him anyway, there's no point in trying to educate someone who has had those views for a long time.

People hate on stoners so much, we're such loving people.

Of my three cats, Ritchie is the only one who wants to go out really. Eddie, his brother (who you would have seen with the alien eyes in the pet picture thread) follows him but he's not really that bothered, plus his arch-enemy is the wind. He's scared ****less of it! Molly stays behind, the little woman, looking after everything domestic, and then attacks the guys when they come back in for breakfast!

Ritchie, though, when out has a way of standing on his hind legs and pushing on the door so that I can hear him and let him back in when he's had enough roaming. Most times he'll be in and out maybe five or six times a day (the proverbial fiddler's elbow!), never goes far, and once it begins to get dark I bring him in. All my cats are indoors for good before Mister Moon comes up, and they like it that way.

Ah, they don't worry about handle time with me. Goal is like, 220 seconds per call average or under, and I'm at 193 for the year. They just worry about staffing, and need to keep the right amount of people on the phones at the same time, have the right amount of people on break or lunch...so really, they're just annoying the everlasting **** out of me because they really seem to think the sixty seconds or so it is going to take me to completely wrap up a call is going to kill their staffing or something.

Also, this may be a bitch...but today, we had something like 140 calls in queue, and the stats were saying we were "overstaffed," so they were being absolutely ridiculous. It's like, people were waiting 10+ minutes to speak with a rep, and they were worried about staffing being "over," when that had to be an error.

My brother is an arsehole of the highest grade. I was in my sisters (5 min drive away from mines) and I was watching my nephew and I'm not feeling great cos I have blocked sinuses (fells like I have a tumour really) so I asked my brother to bring me a car seat so I could come home as my sisters TiVo and broadband are down so I had nothing to do and he said no. I seriously pick him up EVERY weekend drunk without complaining because I don't drink much anymore and it saves him from paying a taxi and he can't even ****ing travel 5 mins down the road for me.

I dunno if I'm being a super bitch lately or wither people are genuinely trying their hardest to piss me off.

I'm not sure what you mean by "bring me a car seat"? Though I assume you were looking for a lift? He sounds like a real prick, especially if he knows you're sick. For some people it goes only one direction unf...

Hope you're feeling better soon Kay. Have some flowers.

No I had my own car, I needed the baby seat to put my nephew in so I could go home. He was supposed to take the little one out sledging so was supposed to be coming anyway, then it rained so they couldn't go and I asked him to still bring the seat, he just said "I'm no going out" so I had to drive home with my nephew out of a car seat. He literally expected me to sit and twiddle my thumbs for 6 hours.

Thanks for the flowers Trollheart

We had a discussion in class today about the existence of god, and the question of why god doesn't stop evil things from happening.
I (being the one who doesn't believe in any deity) argued that an all-loving, all powerful god would be a paradoxal douchebag to not help innocent children from being tortured and molested, even though he/she has given us free will.
The answer to this was that "What separates us from animals is that they only act on instinct, while we have the gift of free will", followed by a gigantic wave of applause, as well as the teacher telling us class was over, leaving me as the loser of the debate.
And I didn't get to tell them how weak that argument was, how there was absolutely no fact to back that statement up (the person who said it used the Quran as a source of information), and it has been irritating me all day.

And to make the whole day worse, I downloaded Can's "Tago Mago" (great album, by the way), only to find that one of the song files were corrupt, and that I have to pay for the whole album again just to be able to download that ONE song.
I will try to contact iTunes and so on, but OH GOD, it's not pleasant.

I was looking at buying a new mid-range gaming PC on installed payments through Bill Me Later, but I don't have enough credit history for them to allow it. I really don't like using my credit card, and only ever use it on small items like fast food and the occasional bar tab, and while I do make my monthly payments so I don't fall behind, I also don't grow anything. It's a shame too cause one of the PC's I was looking at was relatively cheap (Under $700) and could play everything I want it to. I hate how important credit is these days, and the fact that I really haven't done anything to build mine despite living a relatively easy life these last few years.
