So I go on an interview that seems to go great, I get calls from some of my other references saying they'd been contacted and all spoke highly of me. I'm feeling confident until the woman I interviewed with calls me to ask me questions about why my last boss called me "sweet but emotionally unstable". On one hand, now I know why I've yet to find work but on the other hand I'm pretty upset. Now I have to regroup and figure out what to do to rectify the situation.
Sue her ass, shes only allowed to speak of your abilities on the job.

I wish I had it in me to be this way. I don't know how to turn away from
someone in pain. I have been this way since I was a littke girl. If I don't care how some one is,then I wont insult them by asking and pretendin g like I care. That is the only redeeming thing about my mentality, though. But if it's 3:00 am and the phone rings and the voice on the end of the line is in destress, I do not know how to turn my back on them. No matter who it is.

Seriously, I need to do something. I work with kids so being labeled like that can easily f*ck me over.

That would prove her right.

That sounds like something a "Mentally unstable" person would do.

it'd be funny though

Yeah, "unstable" is probably not good. I have PTSD from being assaulted several years ago, I've gotten help for it and am totally functional. I got fired for having a serious panic attack and meltdown when I was notified he was getting out of jail and moving in with the girl who talked him into attacking me. It just sucks, not only did she lie to me about giving me good references but she told a lot of the parents a bunch of BS. Luckily that hasn't stopped them from trusting me enough to invite me to their home to sit for them. I'm planning on moving, but I need to get a job first.

A lot of people are leaving my store and our staff is slowly dwindling. This makes me very sad. People just don't want to work these days.

There was a lot of downtime (4-12 minutes) between calls today, so I was trying to enjoy myself and read a book. People around me were engaging in completely stupid and senseless conversations, which really is not unusual. (The day after the VMAs, a girl on my team went on about the Miley/Robin Thicke performance the entire shift. I actually ended up keeping a tally sheet on my desk of how many times "twerk" was said by her that day: 43, and that doesn't include the significant amount of times she said it BEFORE I kept count.)

Anyway, just completely asinine things are kind of amusing. I'll chat about music, TV, books, movies, and normal "water cooler" conversation, but some people have no idea what is work appropriate. And even worse to me, and the reason I'm bitching, is the people who try to enrich their work conversation with things they feel make them sound intelligent, but are COMPLETELY INCORRECT.

Case in point:

Dude on my team was going on about how he was a grammar nazi (bitching about the memos this one particular customer care center leaves on accounts, which are so bad they're almost unreadable) and then goes on to give a "grammar lesson" on the proper usage of the words 'well' and 'good'.

According to him, you use well when talking about yourself, and good when talking about someone else. Wrong, wrong, WRONG! I lowered my book slightly, debating on whether or not I should turn around and set him straight, but decided against it. I'm intrigued, however, as to how an adverb is the correct usage no matter what else goes on in the sentence in first person, an adjective in second/third.

He also went on a rant about how someone's memo was wrong because they noted that 'monies should be credited back,' which is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT from a financial or business standpoint, but he insisted that monies is not a word.

And don't even GET ME STARTED on his ignorant, incorrect assessment of psychedelics (pro-psychedelic, but claiming they don't affect brain chemistry and that this is a lie) and fallacious argument against pharmaceutical drugs...

On a likely related note, I'm still adjusting to my Celexa, and Friday will be four weeks without a cigarette, so I'm probably more irritable than usual.
