I've been watching lots of Christmas films this week and usually that helps me to stay cheerful throughout Christmas but not this year.

I used to LOVE Christmas when I was a kid and now, obviously it's not the same. I'm used to that. I don't get excited but I'm usually still happy. I hate when people get so down on Christmas. Just buy some presents, accept some presents, eat too much and shut the fuck up.

I hate the fact that I am one of those people so far this year.

My family and I have kind of a silent agreement of not getting presents. I have found it makes the holidays a much easier time (especially since im only 20 and have jack **** in the way of savings)

It also helps you just spend time with your family without having to worry about money.

I have no money but I couldn't have Christmas without exchanging presents.

most of my family receives CD mixes from me. more effort, less cash.

Dont you find that half the presents you get you dont even really want or try and find a way to return? Maybe its bad to do but I say go and buy yourself something nice ;)

Money wise I typically break even anyways. Between presents received and money spent on others.

Listening now to that Phoenix album on spotify. What an insipid sub-Strokes pile of pigeon shit. With bonus cringeworthy disco bits.

Couple of days later, but hey...
It pretty much means that being to nice usually means that people will take advantage of you.

Everybody seems to be happy right now. Everyone I know went out and has a great night while I sat at home depressed, completely unmissed. Bummer.

You would have been missed here if you had gone out ;)
