Multitude of salads, whole grain foods, protein shakes, lots of stuff, i'm not going to list it out. As I said, I got numerous recipes from cook books and websites for vegetarians.

Were you getting enough vitamin C? I've never had any dizziness problems from being a vegetarian. I had problems when I went vegan but that's a lot more restricted and I wasnt eating enough. I eat a lot of beans and carbs and lots and lots of fruits and vegetables. I eat several oranges a day, even. I'm healthier than everyone in my family, and their diets are mostly meat based things. I get sick a lot less and have a healthier body weight.

Oh I won't deny that you're healthy. But my only issue is when vegetarians think they're healthier than people who eat meat. Meat has a lot of the protein that is needed for the body to function properly. If it doesn't get it, the body tries to feed on nutrient that it doesn't have.

As for the Vitamin C thing, I can say that I probably was. I had a lot of oranges, I bought orange juice, etc.

There are pros and cons to being a vegetarian and i'm sure if you're healthy, that's fine, but some people just don't have the body to handle it.

Vegetarians often just cut meat out and eat anything else, but most of us are healthier than meat eaters. Only a few vitamins you can't really get in plants.

I won't deny that you are healthier as I said, because there are chances that meat can be bad for you. But besides that, i'm the argument can be the other way around. Whereas meat eaters are healthier than vegetarians, because in some cases, that can be true. Personally, I wouldn't want to give up meat again, I didn't feel healthy, and I don't like not eating meat. I've grown up eating meat, and it's what my body is used to. But if you can be healthy and not eat meat, than so be it.

I as well won't deny that you are healthy at all, and to each is own.

But for the record, I haven't had a cold or flu in over 5 years.

To me, that is good health. (and I even drink beer/wine and smoke pot)

The only time I've really been sick in years was when my entire family got Swine Flu. I was the last one to get sick, but I also tried to avoid them completely for a while.

And I don't eat meat, drink semi-regularly, smoke, and all of that. So, it really depends on the person. I'm not going to generalize really and say that either way is healthier. It'd be impossible to really say, as everyone is different.

It's just a personal preference, really.

Yes, I totally agree....as you can see, I don't really go out of my way to eat/act/be healthy, I eat all sorts of stuff that they claim is bad for me, beef jerky, cookies, donuts etc....I am a grazer (eats small bits all day, instead of meals), perhaps that helps, my doc says it's a healthy lifestyle.

(I do also love veggies, and eat most of them raw....but McDonalds and the other fast food places are not outlawed in my home, but only maybe once a week if that....I like to cook.)

I BBQ as much as I can, all year round....love it.

Maybe I'm just lucky....
