If I don't have anything in common with someone then I don't have anything in common with them. Goodwill and understanding can't replace interpersonal chemistry. Hell, it may very well be the same with rich people, I just don't happen to know any of them. And obviously this is a general thing and doesn't apply to everybody.

But people aren't defined by their class or their wealth. People are a lot more complicated than that. You can have chemistry with people regardless of their background.

Sure, but there's often a limit to that chemistry. I worked fast food for years, and I was cool(ish) with plenty of my fellow employees, most of whom are basically the people I'm talking about, but it was sort of implicitly understood that I was just a work friend. Some of those people might have hung out with each other, but I was just too different from them to really fit into their social circles. It's not about class prejudice. People raised in similar surroundings are going to have more in common with each other, and will probably be more compatible with each other, than someone from a different cultural background.

Please continue sipping your tea and nibbling your crumpets haha.

But you're smart. You're well-read. You've got a distinct personal style. You're not a total idiot who's never looked past their front door. We're talking about bottom-feeders here, not people who grew up in unfortunate circumstances but know to be the best they can be. You didn't squander your potential to be a decent human being.

We're talking about people who haven't showered in 2 weeks, not because they can't, but because they're gross. We're talking about people whose wardrobe consists of 'Murrica t-shirts and jeans that don't fit them, not because they don't have the opportunity to better themselves, but because they don't care. We're talking about trash.

(My parents were poor when I was growing up, but with what little they had, they taught me to crave the best of everything. Hell, it's my day off and I'm dressed to the nines because that's just me.)

Heh... I shower like once every two weeks even though there's a perfectly fine working shower twenty feet away, and my pants don't fit because I shop at salvation army for the cheapest jeans that don't give me muffin top.

But I get your point, it's just funny. I know what people you're talking about, plain dumbasses.

Yeah, people in general are ****ing stupid, but a relative lack of sophistication can make it even more glaringly obvious.

Once every two weeks? Gross. I shower two to three times a day.

I was too much of a gentleman to say it.

I get being a misanthrope but acting snobby and bourgeoisie like you are better than the same people that are in your class bracket is stupid.

First of all, money bracket yeah, but I'm middle class at heart. Secondly, don't give me that ****. People are ****ing morons, but they're not all morons in the same way. Recognizing the ways in which different groups are stupid isn't snobbery, it's having eyes and ears. You can act all high and mighty if you want, but I bet most of your friends fit into at least some kind of broad category that makes them more or less like you, be it class or otherwise.
